19:00 - Luton Town v Rotherham United
Paul Warne takes his Rotherham United side to Kenilworth Road to face Nathan Jones’ Luton Town on Tuesday in a huge EFL Championship encounter for the Millers. This is the final game in hand for Rotherham, who are three points behind Derby County in the race for survival. Victory in Bedfordshire will lift United out of the bottom three ahead of the final weekend of the season.
Luton have had a fine campaign in the Championship, sitting in 12th place with 61 points to their name. As for the Millers, their season has been a struggle from start to finish, though they could still survive on the last day. However, Rotherham’s form has been dreadful of late, taking just one point from a possible 18. We fancy Luton to secure a comfortable home victory here, so back the hosts to win with a -1 goal handicap at odds of 9/2.
20:00 - Manchester City v PSG
The second leg of the blockbuster UEFA Champions League semi-final tie between Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain will take place at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night. City hold a handy lead in the tie after coming from behind to beat the Parisians 2-1 in Paris last week. Will City see the job through and reach their first ever Champions League final?
Man City were excellent in the second half at the Parc des Princes last Wednesday. After going a goal down early on, the Premier League leaders rallied and turned the game on its head thanks to strikes by the influential Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez. You can get the solid odds of 2/1 for the Man City win and both teams to score in this one.
20:00 - Chelsea v Real Madrid
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid meet in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night. This epic encounter is well and truly in the balance after the pair drew 1-1 in Valdebebas last week. Can the Premier League side see the job through and book their spot in the 2021 Champions League final in Istanbul?
Chelsea were excellent at the Alfredo Di Stefano, with American Christian Pulisic scoring what could be a vital away goal in the eventual 1-1 draw. A goalless draw would be enough for the Blues, but we fancy Tuchel’s side to go one better and secure a narrow home win over the Spanish heavyweights. Take a punt on Chelsea to win by one goal at the Bridge, which is available at reasonably good odds of 11/4.
20:00 - Arsenal v Villarreal
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Unai Emery’s Villarreal lock horns at the Emirates Stadium this Thursday for the 2nd leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-final. The Spanish side picked up a win in the 1st leg, but the Gunners grabbed an away goal and so they are certainly not out of this one just yet. Emery would love to get one over on his former employer’s and is, of course, a specialist in this competition. However, with the tie in the balance, who will see the job through and book their place in this season’s Europa League final?
Arsenal were 2-0 down and had a man sent off at the Estadio de la Ceramica last week, but a late Nicolas Pepe penalty kept their hopes alive. It was an eventful matchup in Spain, and we could be in for more of the same in London this Thursday. Arsenal will feel they will have a real chance if they do not concede. Their last three wins have come with clean sheets, and Arteta’s boys will reach the final if they win to nil here (9/4).
20:00 - Roma v Manchester United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes his Manchester United troops to Rome this Thursday to face Paulo Fonseca’s Roma in the UEFA Europa League. The Red Devils have an almost unassailable lead in this semi-final tie after a thumping victory at Old Trafford last week. The Premier League club have more than one foot in this term’s Europa League final and barring a disaster they will progress.
United ran riot in the 1st leg on home soil, with Bruno Fernandes (2), Edison Cavani (2), Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood on target in a massive 6-2 win. Ole’s boys were 2-1 down at the break but were scintillating in the second period to take the tie away from the Italians. We fancy Man United to win this one too, but Roma simply have to attack, so we could be in for another thriller. Put some money on the away win and both teams to score at the solid odds of 21/10.
20:00 - Leicester v Newcastle
Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City and Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United meet at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Friday night. The Foxes are desperate to finish in the UEFA Champions League places, and they have some huge games coming up against the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Rodgers’ boys will want all three points from this one and against opponents with nothing much to play for they should get the job done.
Leicester head into Friday night’s fixture having won three and drawn one of their last four in all competitions. As for the Magpies, they were unbeaten in four (two wins, two draws), a run which essentially assured their top flight survival, before last weekend’s disappointing 2-0 home loss to Arsenal. The Foxes won 2-1 at the King Power Stadium back in January, and you can get very solid looking odds of 9/4 for the Leicester win and both teams to score in this one.
12:30 - Leeds v Tottenham
Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur meet in a tasty Premier League fixture at Elland Road this Saturday afternoon. With Spurs seeking a top four spot and a place back in the UEFA Champions League, this is a huge game for Ryan Mason and his men. However, Marcelo Bielsa’s troops are not an easy nut to crack, and whilst their form at Elland Road has not been great they have enjoyed some good results against the big boys of late.
Leeds’ loss to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend was their first defeat in six (three wins, three draws, including games against Liverpool and both Manchester sides). Tottenham have won two out of two in the Premier League under interim manager Mason, following up a 2-1 win over Southampton with a thumping 4-0 victory over relegated Sheffield United last Sunday. With the away side’s key players hitting decent form and the fact that Leeds do not have much left to play for, we fancy Spurs to make it three league wins on the spin this Saturday. The away victory is available at evens and that looks generous to us.
12:30 - Cardiff v Rotherham
Mick McCarthy’s Cardiff City entertain Paul Warne’s Rotherham United at the Cardiff City Stadium in EFL Championship action this Saturday. The Millers still have a chance of survival, but they must beat the Bluebirds in the Welsh capital to stand any chance. Cardiff will be hoping to end their season with a win but in truth their campaign has trailed off after it looked like they would force their way into the play-off places.
Since McCarthy arrived in South Wales in January, just Watford, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday have beaten them but they have drawn too many times. City are undefeated in five, winning the last two, including a thumping 4-0 victory at Birmingham City last time out. The Millers are still in with a shout of survival, but Warne’s boys head to Wales having taken just two points from a possible 21. Cardiff could be too strong in this one, and we like the look of the hosts to win to nil at 10/3.
12:30 - Derby v Sheffield Wednesday
The biggest game in the EFL Championship on the final weekend is without doubt the huge fixture between Wayne Rooney’s Derby County and Darren Moore’s Sheffield Wednesday at Pride Park. The Rams are in 21st position on 43 points, with the Owls three points behind in 23rd. Derby’s destiny is in their own hands, while an away win could keep Wednesday in the division.
Derby have had woeful end to a miserable season, losing six in a row and winning only one of their past 14. Rooney was brought in to steady the ship but if anything he has guided it ever closer to the rocks. Sheffield Wednesday, who were deducted six points this season, have given themselves a fighting chance after taking four points from their last three games. Our money is going on the Wednesday win (11/5), which would relegate Derby. An Owls victory coupled with dropped points by Rotherham United will see Moore’s troops stay in the Championship.
12:30 - Watford v Swansea
Watford and Swansea lock horns in a mouth-watering EFL Championship matchup at Vicarage Road on the final day. The Hornets have already booked their place in next season’s Premier League, finishing second behind champions Norwich City. As for the Swans, they have qualified for the play-offs for a second season running.
Xisco Munoz has done a great job in Hertfordshire since taking over at the end 2020, taking the Hornets to 88 points. Swansea are not too far behind, with the Welsh side chalking up an impressive 23 wins to nail down a place in the top six. City will want a positive result to take into their play-off campaign, but Watford are the best home team in the league by far. With that in mind, take a punt on the hosts to win and both teams to score at 7/2.
15:00 - Sheffield United v Crystal Palace
Roy Hodgson takes his Crystal Palace side to Bramall Lane on Saturday to face Paul Heckingbottom’s Sheffield United in the Premier League. The Blades have lost seven of their past eight league and cup games, though they did beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 in their last home fixture. As for Palace, they head to Sheffield having lost three in a row. With both sides low on confidence and having nothing at stake this may not be the most thrilling game of the weekend.
Sheffield United are already gearing up for a season in the EFL Championship, but the Blades will want to finish this woeful campaign in strong fashion. Crystal Palace finished poorly last term, and defeat on Saturday will be a fourth reverse on the spin for the Eagles. With both teams in poor form, we fancy this to end all square in the Steel City. Put some money on the draw at the decent odds of 11/5.
17:30 - Manchester City v Chelsea
In a repeat of their recent FA Cup semi final and a dress rehearsal for the 2021 UEFA Champions League final, giants Manchester City and Chelsea lock horns in Premier League action at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening. Victory for City will see them become champions of England once again. This is also a massive fixture for the Blues as they look to nail down a place in the top four. There are so many fascinating sub-plots here and it will be an interesting game, with both sides desperate to win for a range of reasons.
Since losing to Chelsea in the semi-final of the Emirates FA Cup in mid-April, Man City have gone on to win five in a row in all competitions, including two Champions League victories over Paris Saint-Germain. Chelsea beat Real Madrid in midweek to reach the final, and Thomas Tuchel has suffered just two defeats since taking over at Stamford Bridge. The Londoners are in great form, but we fancy City to get the job done here. Despite the fact that both teams are superb defensively, we think this will be a game that sees goals. Take a punt on the home win and both teams to score (7/2).
20:15 - Liverpool v Southampton
Two German managers go head to head here as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool welcome Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton to Anfield on Saturday night for a Premier League fixture. Things have rapidly gone downhill for the Saints since they beat the Reds at St Mary’s at the start of the year. Liverpool have certainly had their problems on home soil this season, but Klopp’s men are the clear favourites in this one as they try to at least make a fight of finishing in the top four.
Since suffering a staggering six defeats in seven Premier League games, Liverpool have gone five matches unbeaten in the league, winning three and drawing two. However, the outgoing Premier League champions have picked up just one home league victory since December. That said, Southampton have been in dreadful form in 2021, losing 12 of 16 league games since beating Liverpool on 4th January. We are backing the hosts to win -1 on Saturday at decent looking odds of 4/5.
20:00 - Fulham v Burnley
Scott Parker’s Fulham entertain Sean Dyche’s Burnley at Craven Cottage on Monday night. The Cottagers need a miracle to survive after slipping nine points adrift of safety but for now at least they are still fighting. The London side will not give up while it is still mathematically possible for them to survive but depending on results elsewhere it could all end here. Burnley, who won 4-0 in their last away game, will fancy their chances at the Cottage.
Dyche’s troops have picked up some memorable away victories this term, winning at the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers. These two met at the Cottage in the Emirates FA Cup back in January, with the Lancashire side running out comfortable 3-0 winners. In their last away match, Chris Wood netted a hat-trick in a 4-0 win at Wolves. Fulham have struggled for goals all term so back the away team to win to nil again on Monday at the decent odds of 9/2.
12:00 - Wolves v Brighton
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers and Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion meet at Molineux in Premier League action on Sunday. Wolves are in 12th place with 42 points to their name, with the Seagulls two positions and five points behind. Both sides are surely safe but Brighton can make 100% sure of Premier League survival this weekend and will be keen to do so.
Wolves have not been at their best this season, but Nuno’s troops can still finish in the top half of the table. That said, Wanderers were hammered 4-0 by Burnley in their previous home fixture so confidence will hardly be peaking. Brighton are now 10 points clear of 18th after a vital 2-0 win over Leeds United last weekend, which has all but secured their safety. These two played out a six-goal draw back in January, and there is good value in the draw and over 2.5 goals in this one at 14/1. With both sides relatively relaxed, we could see a thrilling game with the pressure off and 14/1 is a huge price.
14:05 - Aston Villa v Manchester United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes his in-form Manchester United to Villa Park this Sunday to face Dean Smith’s unpredictable Aston Villa. With United seeking a second place finish, the Red Devils will want all three points from this one. The 2021 UEFA Europa League finalists are the odds-on favourites to get the win in the Midlands but with the fixtures piling up, what sort of XI will Solskjaer name?
After three games without a win, Villa struck back with an impressive victory at Everton last time out. However, they have picked up just one win from their last six at Villa Park. Before a 0-0 draw with Leeds United at Elland Road in their last league fixture, Man United had won five Premier League games on the spin, with two of those coming with clean sheets. They have the squad depth to handle their current fixture frenzy and given Villa’s woeful home record we have to fancy the away win. The visitors are priced at 11/5 to win to nil on Sunday and that looks generous.
16:30 - West Ham v Everton
West Ham United and Everton meet in a huge Premier League fixture at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Hammers are just three points behind the final UEFA Champions League place, while Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees find themselves six points away from David Moyes’ men and still in with a good shout of a Europa League place. Who will come out on top in this crucial clash in the capital?
After defeats to Newcastle United and Chelsea, West Ham struck back with a vital victory at Burnley on Monday to keep their Champions League dreams alive. As for the Toffees, they suffered a first defeat in five games last weekend, losing 2-1 at home to Aston Villa. These two teams seem pretty well matched on paper, especially with Everton so much better on the road than at home, and we can see the pair cancelling each other out at the London Stadium on Sunday. The draw and both teams to score is nicely priced at 10/3.
19:00 - Arsenal v West Brom
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal welcome Sam Allardyce’s West Bromwich Albion to the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League this Sunday night. The Gunners will still be hurting from their UEFA Europa League semi-final exit at the hands of Villarreal on Thursday. Arsenal look likely to miss out on Europe altogether next season, while the Baggies are staring relegation in the face.
To be bluntly honest, Arsenal have not been good enough this season. They have struggled in the Premier League, losing 13 of their 34 games. Arteta’s troops languish in ninth spot, 12 points behind the final UEFA Champions League position. Despite this, the Londoners should ease past West Brom, who have the second worst away record in the Premier League. Put some money on the home team to win -1 at 5/4.
18:00 - Manchester United v Leicester
Manchester United and Leicester City meet in a huge Premier League fixture at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening. This is the first of three home league games on the bounce for United, who host Liverpool on Thursday in a rescheduled fixture before next week’s match with Fulham. The Red Devils will be hoping to delay Manchester City’s title celebrations for as long as possible.
Ole’s troops are in sensational form in the Premier League, winning six of their last seven. Last time out, they came from a goal down to win 3-1 at Aston Villa. The pressure has heaped on Leicester, with the Foxes taking just one point from their last two games. Man United are in red-hot form, and our money is going on a comfortable home victory here. Back the hosts to win with a -1 goal handicap at odds of 15/4.
20:15 - Southampton v Crystal Palace
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton and Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace square off at St Mary’s in Premier League action on Tuesday night. After winning on the road last weekend, can the Eagles fly home with all three points this Tuesday? The Saints have picked up just two league victories since beating Liverpool in January and were if not for even poorer teams below them they’d be right in the mix for relegation. Who will come out on top in this one between two decidedly average sides?
Southampton have had a dreadful second half to their season but they should be safe for another year in the top flight. Palace are also safe, sitting in 13th spot in the table with 41 points to their name. Neither team are in good form but we are backing Hodgson’s troops to follow up last Saturday’s 2-0 win at Sheffield United with another away victory here. The Crystal Palace triumph is available at the decent odds of 5/2, which is good enough to tempt us.
20:15 - Chelsea v Arsenal
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal lock horns in a London derby in the Premier League this Wednesday. This is the Blues’ final game before the 2021 Emirates FA Cup final, but Tuchel and his men will be desperate for all three points as they look to nail down a UEFA Champions League spot in the Premier League. The hosts are the clear favourites to win this one but Arsenal will be ready to take advantage if the hosts have one eye on the cup final.
Chelsea have been in excellent form in the Premier League since Tuchel took over, losing just one league game under his management. After that shock home defeat to West Bromwich Albion last month, they have struck back by taking 13 points from a possible 15, including their 2-1 away victory at Man City on Saturday. The Gunners have won two on the spin in league action but we are backing Chelsea in this one. The Blues have kept 11 clean sheets in 16 league games under Tuchel and we’ll be backing the hosts to win to nil on Wednesday at a decent price of 7/4.
18:00 - Aston Villa v Everton
Fresh from their hard-fought win at West Ham United, Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton will be looking for another precious three points when they travel to Villa Park to face Dean Smith’s Aston Villa on Thursday evening. At the time of writing, the Toffees are eight points away from the final UEFA Champions League place, while the Villans sit in 11th spot. It seems unlikely Everton will break into the top four by the end of the season, but they will keep fighting until it is impossible for them to do so.
Aston Villa, who survived by the skin of their teeth last term, have had a fine Premier League campaign, spending pretty much all season around mid-table. However, Smith’s troops have been in patchy form of late, winning just one of their last five games. Everton’s European dreams are still alive and kicking after the excellent win at West Ham, even if they have to settle for the Europa League, and we fancy the Toffees to take maximum points at Villa Park. The Everton victory is priced at odds of 8/5 which looks like decent value to us.
20:15 - Manchester United v Liverpool
The rescheduled game between rivals Manchester United and Liverpool will take place at Old Trafford on Thursday night. As United hope to nail down second place, while the Reds are desperate to break into the top four, this is a huge fixture for both clubs. Liverpool are the slight favourites with the bookies but anything can happen when these sides meet.
Man United have been in stunning form in the Premier League since that humiliating home loss to Tottenham Hotspur way back in October and have lost just three more Premier League games since being humbled 6-1. The Red Devils have been tough to beat in the league this year and have booked their spot in this season’s UEFA Europa League final. Liverpool are undefeated in six games in league action, winning four and drawing two. We fancy these rivals to play out an entertaining stalemate in Manchester. The draw and both teams to score is priced at odds of 7/2 which is the bet for us.
20:00 - Newcastle v Manchester City
Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City go head-to-head at St James’ Park in Premier League action on Friday night. With rivals Manchester United playing twice before this one, Man City could be crowned champions by the time they line up at St James’. As for the Magpies, they are safe from relegation and will be looking to finish their rather inconsistent season with as much positivity as they can.
Last time out, Newcastle stunned UEFA Champions League hopefuls Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, with Callum Wilson helping himself to a brace in a rather unexpected 4-2 romp. Man City’s title celebrations were put on hold after a 2-1 home loss to Chelsea last Saturday. Nevertheless, only a miracle will stop Pep’s City from lifting another Premier League trophy. Newcastle will be breathing easier after survival was confirmed, but we fancy City to get back to winning ways in style on Friday. Back the visitors to win both halves in this match at odds of 13/8.
12:30 - Burnley v Leeds
Burnley welcome Leeds United to Turf Moor for a Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon. The Clarets have won two of their last three matches, beating Fulham last Monday to ensure Premier League survival. Leeds have enjoyed a sensational season back in the top flight, winning 15 times to currently occupy a place in the top half of the table.
Burnley have lived dangerously close to the edge this season and at the time of writing they are still shy of the mythically important 40-point mark. But Sean Dyche’s boys will live to fight another day after the sides below them have shown themselves to be that bit poorer over the course of the season. Last time out, goals from Ashley Westwood and Chris Wood gave them a 2-0 victory at Fulham. Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds, meanwhile, are in fine fettle, winning four, drawing two and losing one of their last seven games. In recent weeks, United have taken points from Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur and they will certainly not fear a trip to face Burnley. The away win here is available at odds of 11/8, which looks like very good value to us.
15:00 - Southampton v Fulham
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton and Scott Parker’s Fulham square off at St Mary’s in the Premier League this Saturday. After last weekend’s results, the Cottagers have dropped back down to the EFL Championship after another one-year stay in the top tier. Nevertheless, Parker’s troops will be hoping to end their season in strong fashion to recover a little pride.
Southampton have had a pretty abysmal 2021 in terms of Premier League results, but they did secure a 3-1 home win over Crystal Palace last time out, with Danny Ings bagging a brace. That was just the Saints’ fourth league victory since the turn of the year but they are at least safe in the Premier League for another year. Since that famous win at Anfield in March, Fulham have lost six and drawn one of their following seven games. We fancy Southampton to shade this one, and the home win and both teams to score (at odds of 3/1) is the bet to catch the eye for us.
17:15 - Chelsea v Leicester
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City contest this season’s Emirates FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium this Saturday with both sides understandably eager to land this historic piece of silverware. There is not a lot to split these two in the Premier League at present, with the Foxes just two points ahead of the Blues. Chelsea are the third most successful side in FA Cup history, while Leicester have never lifted the trophy but could this be the Foxes’ year?
Tuchel has been very successful at Stamford Bridge so far, guiding the Blues to the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League finals. However, they prepared for this final with a disappointing 1-0 home league loss to Arsenal last time out. As for Leicester, they beat Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford. Chelsea have been tough to beat under Tuchel, though, losing just three times since he took the helm. We fancy the Londoners to edge this final and there is good value in 13/5 for the Blues to win by a one goal margin within the 90 minutes.
20:00 - Brighton v West Ham
David Moyes takes his West Ham United side to the Amex Stadium to play Graham Potter’s Brighton and Hove Albion in Premier League action on Saturday night. After Chelsea’s loss to Arsenal in midweek, West Ham could close the gap on fourth place to just one point with a win on the South Coast. As for the Seagulls, they languish in 17th position but are safe from the drop as their nearest rival for survival, Fulham, are 10 points adrift with only three games remaining.
Brighton’s performances this season warrant more points, but Graham Potter’s men are at least safe from relegation after last weekend’s results. As for the Hammers, Moyes’ men have been the surprise package in the Premier League this term and could still break into the top four if results go their way. This is a massive game for West Ham, and we are backing the Irons to leave the Amex with a crucial three points which is available to back at odds of 29/20.
12:00 - Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
On Sunday afternoon, Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace and Dean Smith’s Aston Villa lock horns at Selhurst Park in a Premier League fixture. The Eagles currently occupy 13th spot with 41 points to their name, with the Villans two places and eight points ahead. Even though neither side have anything to play for, both will be looking for a win from this one, and Aston Villa are the slight favourites with the bookies.
Palace have been in poor form of late, losing four of their last five as they limp towards the end of the campaign. Hodgson’s side have picked up just two Premier League wins since February. Aston Villa have had a fine season in the top tier, but Smith’s troops have won only one of their previous six, drawing 0-0 with Everton last time out. This is a tough one to call at Selhurst, so we are backing the pair to cancel each other out in a score draw (15/4).
14:05 - Tottenham v Wolves
Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Premier League action this Sunday. Spurs will be hoping to end their campaign in a European place, while Wolves look to be heading for a bottom half finish. Tottenham are the odds-on favourites to get the win on home soil on Sunday afternoon and it is hard to look past the hosts.
Ryan Mason guided Spurs to Premier League wins over Southampton and Sheffield United, but the Lilywhites fell to a damaging 3-1 loss at Leeds United last time out, which has left them eight points behind fourth in seventh. They are out of the Champions League battle but will still want to secure European football by finishing at least seventh. As for Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves, they languish in 12th after a disappointing season. We fancy Spurs to claim a comfortable home victory here, and there is good value in the hosts to win -1 at 11/8.
16:30 - West Brom v Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp takes his Liverpool troops to The Hawthorns this Sunday to play Sam Allardyce’s relegated West Bromwich Albion. The Reds made a pig’s ear of their Premier League title defence this season, but the dethroned champions could still finish in the UEFA Champions League places. No less than three points will suffice for Liverpool in the Midlands this weekend but with their fate in their own hands, few would back against them here.
West Brom’s stay in the Premier League has lasted just one season, as the Baggies were relegated last week. They have been poor and not even relegation-avoidance-expert Sam Allardyce could save them. In contrast, Liverpool have finally found form, winning five and drawing two of their last seven in the league. On Thursday the Reds beat rivals Manchester United 4-2 at Old Trafford. Klopp’s boys should be too strong for Albion here, so put some money on the visitors to be winning at half time and full time at the solid price of 8/11.
19:00 - Everton v Sheffield United
Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton entertain Paul Heckingbottom’s Sheffield United at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday night. The Toffees are still in the mix to claim a European place but they cannot afford any more slips. As for the Blades, they will finish rock bottom after an abysmal season in the top tier. Everton will be looking for all three points from this one and despite their home woes this term they should get the job done here.
At the time of writing, Everton are in eighth spot, level with seventh and just two points behind West Ham United in sixth. They have taken four points from two tricky away fixtures in the past week, beating West Ham and drawing at Aston Villa. Sheffield United head to Merseyside having lost eight of their last nine in all competitions. Everton won 1-0 in the reverse fixture back in December, and you can get 6/5 for the Toffees to win to nil again, good value given their recent defensive record.
18:00 - Bournemouth v Brentford
Bournemouth and Brentford lock horns in the first leg of their EFL Championship play-off semi-final at the Vitality Stadium on Monday. Thomas Frank’s Bees, who missed out in the play-off final last term and finished the regular season in third, are the bookies’ favourites to win the play-offs this season. However, Jonathan Woodgate’s Cherries will be a tough nut to crack over the two legs. This promises to be an enthralling play-off tie.
Bournemouth ended their season with three straight defeats, although a play-off spot was confirmed by then. Just last month, Brentford picked up a narrow 1-0 win at the Vitality Stadium thanks to a Bryan Mbeumo goal. One goal could be enough to settle this 1st leg, and we fancy the away team to take a narrow lead to the second game at the Brentford Community Stadium. Back the Bees to win by one goal at the tempting odds of 3/1.
20:15 - Barnsley v Swansea
Valerien Ismael’s Barnsley and Steve Cooper’s Swansea meet in the first leg of their EFL Championship play-off semi-final at Oakwell on Monday night. The Tykes did exceptionally well to finish in the top six, as the Yorkshire club were languishing around the bottom when Ismail took over in October. Their budget is smaller than most of their rivals in the second tier and many had them tipped for relegation before a ball was kicked. As for the Swans, they are in the play-offs for a second season running and will be desperate for a Premier League return.
Since February, Barnsley have won 13 Championship games, including seven in a row, to fire themselves into the play-offs. For much of the campaign Swansea were battling for automatic promotion, but four straight defeats in March and April put paid to their top two hopes. This semi-final could go either way, and we fancy a tense first leg to end all square at Oakwell on Monday. Take a punt on the draw and both teams to score at 7/2.
18:00 - Manchester United v Fulham
After back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, Manchester United will be looking for all three points when they entertain relegated Fulham at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening. The Red Devils have not been beaten many times this season (six times in total in the league all season), but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s boys head into this one having lost three of their last four in all competitions. Can they pick themselves up here as they continue their quest to land second spot?
The Cottagers’ relegation was confirmed after last Monday’s 2-0 home defeat to Burnley. Since that famous win at Anfield in early March, Scott Parker’s troops have gone on to lose seven and draw one of their following eight games. United will want to make second spot their own with a win on Tuesday and they should have the firepower to do just that. The hosts should be too strong for a side who will be playing in the second tier next term, so we’ll be having a punt on Man United to win both halves at the solid odds of 9/4.
18:00 - Southampton v Leeds
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton and Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United lock horns in Premier League action at St Mary’s on Tuesday. While the Saints have struggled this season, Leeds have flourished on their Premier League return. Can the Yorkshire side move on to 56 points with a victory in Hampshire in midweek? The visitors are the favourites to get the job done but the Saints can be rather unpredictable at times and can turn on the style without warning on occasion.
Southampton have had a miserable time since the turn of the year, but the Saints have moved up to 14th position in the table after back-to-back wins over Crystal Palace and Fulham. Leeds thumped Burnley 4-0 away from home last weekend, which was the club’s 16th Premier League victory of the season. United have won five, drawn two and lost just one of their previous eight games. We are backing in-form Leeds to leave St Mary’s with maximum points, with the away win available at odds of 7/5.
19:00 - Brighton v Manchester City
Newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester City make the trip to the Amex Stadium to face Graham Potter’s Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday night. City won a seven-goal thriller at Newcastle United last time out, and the champions will want to end their league season on 89 points before playing Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League final later in the month.
Brighton’s lowly league position and 38-point tally does not tell the whole story of their campaign. On their day, the well-drilled Seagulls are capable of giving anyone a game in the Premier League. Having said that, Tuesday night’s fixture against the Premier League champions will be a tough one for Potter’s troops. City have the best away record in the league and have racked up 45 points on their travels. As such we’re more than happy to back the champions to win with a -1 goal handicap on Tuesday at odds of 13/10.
20:15 - Chelsea v Leicester
In a repeat of Saturday’s thrilling Emirates FA Cup final, Chelsea and Leicester City meet again, this time at Stamford Bridge in Premier League action. Thomas Tuchel’s men will be out for revenge after losing the cup final at the weekend. With Liverpool now hot on their heels in the race for that crucial fourth spot in the table, the Blues could do with all three points from this one. But Leicester aren’t likely to give them an easy ride of things as they could still finish second in the league if results go their way.
The Foxes were excellent at Wembley to win their first-ever FA Cup trophy, with Youri Tielemans’ stunning strike giving Brendan Rodgers’ men a 1-0 victory. Leicester also beat Chelsea in the reverse Premier League fixture at the King Power Stadium back in January, as goals from Wilfried Ndidi and James Maddison earned a 2-0 win. The Foxes win at the Bridge on Tuesday is available at the tempting price of 4/1, and we think that is the value bet for the game as the Foxes look to rub salt in Chelsea’s FA Cup wounds.
18:00 - Everton v Wolves
Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers square off at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Wednesday. The Toffees’ European hopes are hanging by a thread after Sunday’s disappointing home defeat to bottom club Sheffield United. Can Carlo Ancelotti’s troops get back to winning ways on home soil in midweek or will Wolves scupper the home side’s ambitions?
Since a 1-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion back on 4th March, Everton have gone on to win just two Premier League games, which is appalling form for them considering their early season performances. Wolves have had a tough campaign due to injuries to key players, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops have still managed to keep themselves away from trouble. On paper, these two look well-matched and we fancy the pair to play out an entertaining draw at Goodison on Wednesday. Check out the draw and both teams to score, which is nicely priced at odds of 4/1.
18:00 - Newcastle v Sheffield United
Newcastle United and Sheffield United do battle at St James’ Park on Wednesday. This is the Blades’ final away game before dropping back down to the EFL Championship. Having stunned Everton at Goodison Park last time out, can Sheffield United leave St James’ with another three points on Wednesday? The away win is available at 15/4 which might be enough to tempt some punters to part with their cash.
All of Sheffield United’s nine league and cup victories this season have been by one goal. Last weekend, young Daniel Jebbison netted the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory at Everton. Newcastle were involved in a seven-goal thriller with champions Manchester City last time out, eventually losing 4-3. This could also be close on the scoreline, so have a punt on the away team to win by one goal at 5/1 as the Blades attempt to salvage from pride from a very disappointing campaign in the top flight.
18:00 - Tottenham v Aston Villa
Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to finish off a tough Premier League season on a high. Before travelling to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City on the last weekend, Ryan Mason’s troops welcome Dean Smith’s Aston Villa to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night. Villa have caused many teams problems this season, but Spurs are the clear favourites in this one.
Since taking over on an interim basis, Mason has guided Tottenham to league wins over Southampton, Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Smith’s Villans have had a fine season in the Premier League, but we can only see one winner in this one. Tottenham have been winning at half time and full time in their last two games at home and we can see the same happening in this one. As such we’ll be backing Spurs to in the half time/full time market this Wednesday at odds of 13/10.
19:00 - Crystal Palace v Arsenal
London duo Crystal Palace and Arsenal lock horns at Selhurst Park in Premier League action on Wednesday. While the Gunners still have a chance of securing European football, Mikel Arteta’s men will fight until the very end. However, Roy Hodgson’s Eagles will be buoyed after last weekend’s stunning win over Aston Villa. Which way will this all-London affair go?
Palace’s win over Villa on Sunday lifted them into 13th position in the table. Since moving back into the Premier League in 2013, the Eagles have remained a top-flight club. Arsenal’s impressive European qualifying record could come to an end this season, with the Gunners four points behind seventh place in ninth position as things stand. Still, we are backing Arsenal to get the better of Palace in a tight game on Wednesday. Check out the decent price of 11/5 for the away win and both teams to score.
20:15 - Burnley v Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have hit form at just the right time, winning six and drawing two of their last eight in the Premier League. Last weekend, goalkeeper Alisson Becker netted at the death to secure a vital 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion. The Merseyside outfit will be looking for another three points when they take on Sean Dyche’s Burnley at Turf Moor this Wednesday.
Burnley have been in patchy form of late, winning three and losing five of their last eight games. Last time out, the Clarets crashed to a 4-0 home defeat to Leeds United. Liverpool netted in dramatic fashion to beat West Brom last weekend, which has put them just one point behind Chelsea in the race for the UEFA Champions League. We think they can build on that confidence-boosting triumph and we’ll be backing Klopp’s boys to win with a -1 goal handicap at Turf Moor at odds of 8/13.
20:15 - West Brom v West Ham
Sam Allardyce goes up against one of his former clubs on Wednesday night, as West Bromwich Albion entertain David Moyes’ West Ham United at The Hawthorns in the Premier League. As the Hammers look to nail down a UEFA Europa League spot, only three points will do for the London club. The Baggies may be relegated, but Allardyce’s men could be a tough nut to crack on their own patch.
West Brom were on the wrong end of Premier League history last time out, as Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker netted in injury time to give the Reds a 2-1 win at The Hawthorns. West Ham have been stuttering of late, winning just one of five, but they still have every chance of securing European football with two winnable fixtures to go. Back United to prevail in the West Midlands on Wednesday at odds of 3/5.
12:30 - Brentford v Bournemouth
Brentford and Bournemouth clash in the second leg of their EFL Championship play-off semi-final at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon. It was a tight first leg at the Vitality Stadium, with Arnaut Groeneveld scoring the only goal of the game. With the tie delicately poised, we should expect plenty of thrills and spills in the capital on Saturday. But which side will make it through to the all-important final?
Ahead of the first leg, Bournemouth had lost three games in a row, including a 1-0 home reverse to Brentford in late April. As for the Bees, they went into the play-offs on the back of four straight wins and looked to be hitting form at just the right time. However, it was the Cherries who nicked a precious 1-0 victory in the first leg at the Vitality. Brentford have been solid at home this term, but they did draw nine times on their own patch in the regular season. A draw here would put Bournemouth through and break Brentford hearts, but that’s the outcome we can see occurring. As such we’ll be backing the draw and both teams to score at odds of 7/2.
14:00 - St Johnstone v Hibernian
Callum Davidson’s St Johnstone and Jack Ross’s Hibernian meet in the 2021 Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park on Saturday. The Saints have won the cup just once before, beating Dundee United 2-0 in 2014. This will be Hibs’ 15th final appearance, winning the trophy four times. Who will come out on top in Glasgow and be crowned 2021 Scottish Cup champions?
St Johnstone finished the Scottish Premiership season in mid-table, winning 11 times along the way. As for the Cabbage, they were third behind Glasgow giants Rangers and Celtic, collecting an impressive 18 wins. These two have met each other five times this term, with the Saints winning the last three of them. We fancy Davidson’s side to nick a victory at Hampden this weekend. Take a punt on St Johnstone to win by one goal at odds of 10/3.
18:30 - Swansea v Barnsley
Steve Cooper’s Swansea City welcome Valerien Ismael’s Barnsley to the Liberty Stadium in South Wales on Saturday for the second leg of their EFL Championship play-off semi-final. Both first legs were tight affairs, with the Swans running out 1-0 winners at Oakwell on Monday. The Welsh club are the clear favourites to book their spot at Wembley Stadium but in these tense and high-stakes matches, anything can happen.
As was so often the case in the regular season, Andre Ayew was Swansea’s hero in the first game. The Ghanaian’s smart finish shortly before the break was enough to give City a 1-0 victory in South Yorkshire. It was Ayew’s 19th goal of the season for club and country. Barnsley have lost all three games without scoring against the Welsh side this term and we fancy Swansea to cruise into the Championship play-off final. Back the hosts to win to nil again in this one at odds of 7/2.
16:00 - Arsenal v Brighton
Arsenal welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Emirates Stadium on the final day of the Premier League season. After four straight wins, the Gunners still have a slim chance of taking one of the UEFA Europa League places though they would need two results elsewhere to go their way. Of course, they must also uphold their end of things and they have to beat Brighton, who edged past champions Manchester City last time out.
On the whole, it has been another poor campaign for Arsenal and nicking seventh place at the death won’t much change that. The Gunners are in serious danger of missing out on Europe altogether next season, but they deserve at least some credit for taking it to the final day given where they were. Since a 1-0 home loss to Everton, Mikel Arteta’s men have secured successive wins over Newcastle United, West Bromwich Albion, Chelsea and Crystal Palace. We are backing the Londoners to make it five on the spin this Sunday and at least give themselves a chance. The Arsenal win is available at 3/5 and with the fans behind them that looks a solid enough price.
16:00 - Aston Villa v Chelsea
Dean Smith’s Aston Villa entertain Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in Premier League action at Villa Park on Sunday. The Villans will finish in 11th spot after an excellent season in the top tier. Chelsea will secure a UEFA Champions League place with three points, though a bad result will leave the door wide open for the likes of Liverpool and Leicester City.
Villa have picked up 15 wins in a solid season in the Premier League. Last time out, the Midlands outfit came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Chelsea picked up a crucial 2-1 home win over Leicester on Tuesday, which has put them in pole position for the Champions League places. The Blues’ last two wins have ended 2-1, and the 2-1 away victory on Sunday is nicely priced at big odds of 8/1.
16:00 - Leeds v West Brom
Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United entertain Sam Allardyce’s West Bromwich Albion at Elland Road on Sunday. These two were promoted together last season, but this will be the Baggies’ final Premier League match before dropping back down to the EFL Championship, while Leeds will finish in the top half no matter what happens on the final day. Will the home team sign off for the summer with another three points? Games on the final day of the season often see a raft of goals and with the Baggies demoralised and Elland Road sure to be jumping, Leeds may put the visitors to the sword here.
United have been one of the surprise packages in the Premier League this term, winning 17 of their 37 league fixtures and scoring freely. In contrast, West Brom never got going, with the Midlands club tasting victory just five times this term. Leeds have won 10 away games, including a remarkable 5-0 victory at The Hawthorns back in December. Back Bielsa’s boys to win to nil again at 7/4, with a bet on them to win by three or more also worth considering at big odds.
16:00 - Leicester v Tottenham
Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur square off at the King Power Stadium in a mouth-watering Premier League fixture on the final day. With the Foxes hunting down a UEFA Champions League spot, and Spurs looking to finish in the UEFA Europa League places, this is a massive game for both clubs. Will Leicester suffer final day Champions League heartache for the second season running in a season that promised so much and has already delivered the FA Cup?
Leicester have been in the top four practically all season, but Brendan Rodgers’ troops dropped out after the latest midweek results. As for the visitors, Tottenham’s 2-1 home loss to Aston Villa has left them in a precarious position. The Spurs players were booed off by their fans at half time and at the final whistle. This really could go either way, but we fancy the pair to play out an entertaining draw at the King Power. The draw and both teams to score is available at 15/4.
16:00 - Liverpool v Crystal Palace
Liverpool and Crystal Palace do battle at Anfield in Premier League action this Sunday. This will be Roy Hodgson’s final game as Eagles manager. The Reds fired their way into the top four in midweek, and Jurgen Klopp’s men have UEFA Champions League qualification in their own hands on the final day. Will the outgoing Premier League champions end with a win and secure a top four spot that looked unlikely when they were down in eighth place just a few weeks ago?
Liverpool might have just saved their season after a string of good results. Since a woeful 1-0 home loss to Fulham back in early March, the Merseyside outfit have gone on to win seven and draw two of their following nine. One more win will take them into next season’s Champions League. Hodgson would love to end his tenure at Palace with a positive result, but we are backing an easy Liverpool victory here. You can get 11/10 for the Reds to win both halves.
16:00 - Manchester City v Everton
Premier League champions Manchester City end their domestic season with a game against Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s boys will want to return to winning ways after the midweek loss at Brighton & Hove Albion, while the Toffees could still break into Europe on the final day. Will Man City end with a win before the 2021 UEFA Champions League final?
The Citizens have lost two of their last three in the Premier League, but the title was sewn up weeks ago and their attention will surely be on the UCL final. Everton go into the final weekend in eighth spot, and results will need to go their way if they are to break into the UEFA Europa League places. Unfortunately for Carlo Ancelotti and his men, we fancy a comfortable City win here as they look to build momentum ahead of their historic clash in Portugal. Take a punt on the champions to be winning at half time and full time at 6/5.
16:00 - West Ham v Southampton
David Moyes’ West Ham United are on the cusp of securing UEFA Europa League football. It has been a remarkable season for the Hammers, who have certainly been the surprise package this term. On the final day of the Premier League season, West Ham welcome Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton to the London Stadium. A point will be enough for the Irons but we expect them to take all three.
After winning only one of five, West Ham sealed a much-needed victory last time out. Moyes’ men came from behind to beat Sam Allardyce’s West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns. Southampton had won two on the spin before Tuesday’s 2-0 home loss to in-form Leeds United. A draw will be enough for West Ham, but we are backing the hosts to take all three points from this one. The West Ham win is available at 7/10.
16:00 - Wolves v Manchester United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes his Manchester United troops to Molineux to face Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers on the last day of the 2020-21 Premier League season. This will be the Red Devils’ final fixture before the UEFA Europa League final with Spanish side Villarreal. United have already secured second spot in the Premier League, while Wolves will finish in the bottom half.
Man United have been in patchy form of late, picking up just one point from their last three Premier League matches. However, they have been superb away from home this season, winning 11 and drawing seven of 18. Ole’s boys will want to preserve their unbeaten away record with three points in the Midlands on Sunday. Check out the solid price of 4/1 for the away win and both teams to score.
20:00 - Villarreal v Manchester United
Unai Emery’s Villarreal and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United meet in the UEFA Europa League final at the Stadion Miejski in Gdansk, Poland on Wednesday night. This will be the Spanish side’s first ever appearance in a Europa League final, while United’s one and only final appearance ended in victory four years ago. Man United finished second in the Premier League and have already qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League. On the whole, it has been a successful season for the Red Devils, but will it end with the Europa League trophy?
Villarreal were very much off the pace in La Liga as they finished in seventh place in the table, 28 points behind champions Atletico Madrid. Emery has an excellent record in this competition and it’s possible his side will raise their game in the final. But we fancy Man United, who will be encouraged by their runners-up spot in the Premier League, to get the better of the Yellow Submarine in Gdansk. Check out the tempting price of 10/3 for the English giants to win and both teams to score in what should prove to be an entertaining match.
15:00 - Brentford v Swansea
Thomas Frank’s ever-impressive Brentford and Steve Cooper’s Swansea City contest this season’s EFL Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium this Saturday and the stakes could not be higher. The Bees will be making their second successive final appearance and though they lost to west London rivals Fulham last year they will be hopeful of getting the job done this time around. The Swans’ last play-off final was 10 years ago, and they were knocked out of the play-offs by Brentford last term.
Brentford had another fine season in the Championship, finishing third with 87 points to their name. Frank’s men lost the first leg of their semi to Bournemouth, though second leg goals from Ivan Toney, Vitaly Janelt and Marcus Forss put them through on aggregate. Swansea secured a 2-1 win over Barnsley in their semi-final. Brentford are the clear favourites, and we fancy the London side to secure a relatively comfortable win to book their place in next term’s Premier League. Back the Bees to win with a -1 goal handicap at odds of 5/2 as they make it to the hallowed ground of the Premier League.
20:00 - Manchester City v Chelsea
Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea lock horns in the 2021 UEFA Champions League final at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto on Saturday night. The Citizens will be making their first ever Champions League final appearance but Pep Guardiola’s boys are the odds-on favourites to take the trophy home to Manchester. Chelsea are not in great form having lost the FA Cup final to Leicester and their final top flight fixture to Aston Villa. But they still squeezed into the top four so they will have gained some confidence from that.
Man City, meanwhile, are flying high. They have already won the Premier League and the EFL Cup this term. It has been another remarkable season for Pep and his boys, though Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea did beat City in the semi-finals of the Emirates FA Cup to stop their quadruple hopes. This promises to be an enthralling final in Portugal, with plenty of goals expected. We like the look of the Man City win and over 3.5 goals to be scored, which is nicely priced at 11/2.
15:00 - Blackpool v Lincoln
Neil Critchley’s Blackpool and Michael Appleton’s Lincoln City go head-to-head at Wembley Stadium this Saturday in the 2021 EFL League One play-off final. The pair were evenly matched during the regular season, with Pool finishing just three points above the Imps. Lincoln picked up four points from two entertaining League One meetings this season, as nine goals were scored across the two games.
Blackpool were too strong for Oxford United in the semi-finals, winning 3-0 away before a 3-3 draw at Bloomfield Road. Lincoln’s tie was tighter, as they edged past Sunderland with a 3-2 aggregate score. This exciting final could go either way, but we are backing Blackpool, who are the favourites, to nick a narrow win in the national stadium. Put some money on the Seasiders to win by one goal at odds of 11/4.
17:00 - Malta v Northern Ireland
Ian Baraclough takes his Northern Ireland troops to Austria this Sunday to face Malta. Neither side has qualified for the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament, but both will be looking for a win on Austrian soil. This will be the first meeting between the countries since they played out a goalless draw in a friendly back in 2013. Will we see a winner in this one?
Since three straight wins, the Maltese have gone four matches without victory, drawing with Faroe Islands and Slovakia, and suffering defeats to Russia and Croatia. As for Norn Iron, they have been in woeful form of late, failing to win a game in normal time since a 3-2 friendly win over Czech Republic way back in October 2019. The last two Malta v Northern Ireland meetings have ended in draws, and we fancy the stalemate on Sunday.
15:00 - Morecambe v Newport
Morecambe and Newport County contest this season’s EFL League Two play-off final at Wembley Stadium on Monday. Derek Adams’ Shrimps, who finished fourth in the regular season, fought hard to beat Tranmere Rovers over two legs to reach the final. Michael Flynn’s Exiles edged past Forest Green Rovers in a thrilling semi. Who will hold their nerve and book their place in next season’s EFL League One?
Newport had the better of Morecambe in both league meetings this term, beating the Shrimps home and away. They won 2-1 at Rodney Parade in December and 3-1 at the Mazuma Stadium in March. Morecambe finished five points above the Welsh outfit in the regular season, but we fancy Newport to secure a fourth straight win over the Lancashire club. We predict a fairly open, attacking game, despite the obvious pressures and tension. As such, there is good value in the County win and both teams to score at the big odds of 9/2.
19:45 - Netherlands v Scotland
Netherlands and Scotland clash in a friendly at the Estadio Algarve in Portugal in midweek. This will be just the second meeting between the pair in almost 12 years. When the duo last locked horns, a Memphis Depay goal gave the Dutch a 1-0 friendly win at Pittodrie Stadium back in November 2017. Will Holland get the better of the Scots again as both hone their preparations ahead of the major tournament that is now just days away?
Netherlands have turned their fortunes around in recent years, and the Flying Dutchmen could be a dark horse in this summer’s UEFA Euro 2020. Scotland will also participate in the Euros, where they will face old rivals England in the group stage. This will be a stern test for Steve Clarke’s boys, and even though they have been in decent form of late, we fancy Holland to secure a comfortable victory in the Algarve. Take a punt on Netherlands to win -1 at 6/5.
20:00 - England v Austria
Gareth Southgate’s England welcome Franco Foda’s Austria to the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday for an international friendly fixture. As each nation gear up for the summer’s UEFA Euro 2020 tournament, both will be looking for a win in Middlesbrough. As you would expect, the Three Lions are the bookies’ favourites in this one and with expectations high ahead of the Euros, a confident showing would really help build some momentum.
England, who are also among the favourites to win the European Championship, a tournament they have never won, have been in good form of late, winning four in a row since that UEFA Nations League defeat to Belgium back in November. The Austrians had gone eight games unbeaten, winning six and drawing two, before their 4-0 loss to Denmark in late March. This could be a close encounter at the Riverside, but even if they do not play a full strength side, we fancy England to nick a win on home turf. The Three Lions victory is available at 1/2 and even at those odds is worth adding to your accas.
20:00 - Germany v Denmark
Joachim Low’s Germany and Kasper Hjulmand’s Denmark square off in a friendly at Tivoli Stadion Tirol in Innsbruck, Austria on Wednesday night. Low’s incredible tenure is coming to an end, but can the popular boss sign off with a UEFA Euro 2020 win? Before thinking about the Euros, the Germans will be hoping to see off the Danes and Latvia in their upcoming friendlies.
Germany will still be licking their wounds after the shock 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying loss to North Macedonia in March. Die Mannschaft have lost two of their previous four and some are even daring to right them off ahead of the Euros. In contrast, Denmark are on the up, winning eight of their last nine across all competitions. We fancy the Danes to hold the Germans to a draw in Innsbruck in midweek. Check out the draw and both teams to score at the tempting odds of 7/2.
20:05 - France v Wales
Wales make the trip to the Allianz Riviera this Wednesday to take on European heavyweights France. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winners are the favourites withy most betting sites to lift the UEFA Euro 2020 trophy in July, so this will be a massive test for the Dragons. Les Bleus are the red-hot favourites to get the win on home soil, but can Wales cause an almighty upset against the world champions?
Didier Deschamps’ men are in excellent form, winning four and drawing one of five since a 2-0 friendly loss to Finland in November. Wales are also in fine fettle though, winning four of their past five, despite the off-pitch concerns of their manager Ryan Giggs. They picked up back-to-back 1-0 home wins over Mexico and Czech Republic after losing their opening 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier to Belgium. The Welsh will have a go in Nice, but France should be too strong. Back the hosts to win both halves at 13/8.
