Football Tips – April 2022

5th Apr 2022

19:45 - Preston v Blackpool

Blackpool Win @ 14/5

Preston North End and Blackpool lock horns in an EFL Championship West Lancashire derby on Tuesday night. These two are close on the map and close in the Championship table, with just one point separating the pair. Pool won the reverse game at Bloomfield Road back in October – can the Lilywhites get revenge in midweek?

Preston were tipped for a season of struggle, but North End have been tough to beat since Ryan Lowe took over. However, they have lost their last two games. Blackpool won the EFL League One play-offs last term, and the Tangerines have had a fine first season back in the second tier. Pool beat Preston in the home game, and we are backing the Seasiders to do the double on Tuesday. The away win is available at odds of 14/5.

5th Apr 2022

19:45 - Sheffield United v QPR

Sheffield United to Win by One Goal @ 5/2

Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers square off at Bramall Lane in a huge EFL Championship matchup on Tuesday night. The clubs hover just outside of the play-off places at present, with only two points separating the duo. Both teams will be looking to bounce back from damaging defeats at the weekend.

Last Saturday, Sheffield United lost 1-0 at Stoke City, while Queens Park Rangers were beaten at home by Fulham. The Blades have been excellent under Paul Heckingbottom, but they head into this one having picked up just two wins from seven. As for Mark Warburton’s Hoops, they have lost five of their past six. This could be tight, but we fancy the hosts to edge it. Put some money on Sheffield United to win by one goal at a price of 5/2.

5th Apr 2022

20:00 - Benfica v Liverpool

Liverpool to Win -1 Goal @ 20/21

Jurgen Klopp takes his Liverpool troops to the Estadio da Luz in Portugal this Tuesday to play Benfica in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie. The Reds are in stunning form at present and are the strong favourites to see off the Portuguese outfit over two legs. Can Liverpool take a handsome lead back to Anfield as they look to progress in the competition?

Benfica are in third place behind Porto and Sporting Lisbon in the Primeira Liga right now, but the Eagles have done an outstanding job to reach the last eight of the Champions League. However, getting the better of an in-form Liverpool side will surely be a step too far. We fancy Klopp’s boys to secure a comfortable victory in Lisbon on Tuesday, and there is decent value in 20/21 for the visitors to win with a -1 goal handicap in this one.

5th Apr 2022

20:00 - Manchester City v Atletico Madrid

Manchester City HT/FT @ Evens

The standout UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie is without doubt the blockbuster battle at the Emirates Stadium between giants Manchester City and Atletico Madrid. The Citizens will be looking to make home advantage count in this first leg, and the bookies have made the Premier League champions the strong favourites on Tuesday.

Man City are embroiled in a fascinating scrap with Liverpool for the league title, and Pep Guardiola’s boys are the current favourites to win the Champions League. It could turn out to be a memorable campaign for the Manchester heavyweights. Atleti, who edged past City’s rivals Manchester United in the previous round, could be tough to break down. However, we are backing Man City to get the job done on home soil. Take a punt on the hosts to be winning at half time and full time at a decent enough price of evens.

6th Apr 2022

19:30 - Burnley v Everton

Draw & BTTS @ 7/2

Burnley and Everton go head-to-head on Wednesday in a massive Premier League matchup at Turf Moor. The Clarets are in 19th position with 21 points to their name, while the Toffees are four points above in 17th. Both clubs will be desperate for all three points from this one, but this really is a must-not-lose match for the pair as things are starting to get critical.

Burnley have had a miserable season up until now, winning just three of 28 Premier League matches. However, they still have games in hand on the teams around them. Frank Lampard’s Everton were beaten again at the weekend, which was their 17th league loss of the campaign. Both teams are in dreadful form, and we fancy the pair to cancel each other out in Lancashire. Take a punt on the draw and both teams to score at odds of 7/2.

6th Apr 2022

19:45 - Middlesbrough v Fulham

Fulham Win @ 5/4

Middlesbrough and Fulham meet at the Riverside Stadium in a mouth-watering EFL Championship fixture on Wednesday night. The Cottagers are well on their way to the Premier League, as Marco Silva’s men have a 14-point gap on third place. As for Boro, they sit pretty in fifth with 62 points to their name. Who will come out on top in this crucial Championship clash at the Riverside?

Since a 4-1 mauling at Bramall Lane in early March, Boro have bounced back by taking seven points from the last nine on offer. After no wins in two, Fulham secured a 2-0 victory at Queens Park Rangers last time out. Middlesbrough are in fine fettle, but we can see the leaders returning to the capital with all three points in the bag. The away win is priced at odds of 5/4, which is a price worth considering.

6th Apr 2022

20:00 - Chelsea v Real Madrid

Draw & BTTS @ 7/2

Chelsea and Real Madrid lock horns at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-eight tie. Thomas Tuchel’s troops will be hoping to bounce back from Saturday’s shock home reverse to Brentford in the Premier League. The Blues are the slight favourites, but Real will be no pushovers in the English capital.

The weekend’s heavy 4-1 loss to west London rivals Brentford was a real shock, especially as Chelsea had won six in a row in all competitions prior to that. Real Madrid hit back from their 4-0 home loss to rivals Barcelona before the break with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Celta Vigo on Saturday. These two European powerhouses are hard to split, so our money is going on the draw. You can get a price of 7/2 for the draw and both teams to score.

6th Apr 2022

20:00 - Villarreal v Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich Win & Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/5

Unai Emery’s Villarreal will be hoping to cause another UEFA Champions League upset when they welcome Julian Nagelsmann’s Bayern Munich to the Estadio de la Ceramica in the first leg of their quarter-final on Wednesday night. The Bavarians are the big favourites to reach the last four, but can the Yellow Submarine spring another surprise?

Villarreal stunned Juventus in the previous round, winning 3-0 at the Juventus Stadium to go through with a 4-1 aggregate win. Bayern will be a far bigger threat for the Spanish side, however, and the German champions made light work of Red Bull Salzburg in the Round of 16, winning 8-2 on aggregate. Bayern should edge an entertaining affair in eastern Spain – check out the away win and over 2.5 goals, which is nicely priced at 6/5.

6th Apr 2022

20:00 - West Brom v Bournemouth

Bournemouth to Win to Nil @ 4/1

Steve Bruce’s West Bromwich Albion and Scott Parker’s Bournemouth face off at The Hawthorns in EFL Championship action this Wednesday night. The Cherries are closing in on promotion to the Premier League, and three points in the Midlands in midweek will take them a step closer to the promised land. Can Bournemouth make it three wins on the spin?

Sunday’s defeat at Birmingham City put paid to West Brom’s slim play-off hopes and ended a four-game unbeaten run. Bournemouth are undefeated in five matches since losing at Preston North End a month back, winning three and drawing two. They picked up an impressive 3-0 victory away at Huddersfield Town in their last away match, and you can get the top odds of 4/1 for Parker’s Cherries to win to nil again on Wednesday.

7th Apr 2022

20:00 - West Ham v Lyon

West Ham United to Win by One Goal @ 11/4

West Ham United welcome Lyon to the London Stadium in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final on Thursday. The Hammers have done exceptionally well to reach the last eight of this European competition, but can they see off the French side over two games? David Moyes’ men are the favourites in this one and we fancy they will get the job done.

West Ham have had a memorable Europa League journey so far, and the London side are also in the mix for a UEFA Champions League spot in the Premier League. In reality, winning this competition may be the more realistic way for them to qualify for the UCL next season so they will certainly be giving it their all. Lyon languish in ninth in Ligue 1 right now, but Peter Bosz still has a very capable side at his disposal. This will no doubt be tough, but we fancy the Irons to edge it on home soil. United to win by exactly one goal is priced at very nice odds of 11/4.

7th Apr 2022

20:00 - Sporting Braga v Rangers

Rangers Win @ 2/1

Giovanni van Bronckhorst takes his Rangers side to Portugal this Thursday to face Carlos Carvalhal’s Sporting Braga in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League. With the first leg taking place at the Estadio Municipal in Braga, can the Gers bring home a positive result? The Scottish champions are currently the favourites to qualify to the last four. They would probably settle for a draw and hope to win on home soil but we predict they can do even better here.

Rangers have had a superb European season so far, seeing off Borussia Dortmund in a thrilling tie in the last 32 before easing past Red Star Belgrade in the Round of 16. After their gut-wrenching Old Firm derby defeat to Celtic at the weekend, the Glasgow giants will be desperate to get back to winning ways at the first time of asking. Our money is going on the Rangers win on Thursday, which is available at the very decent price of 2/1.

7th Apr 2022

20:00 - Eintracht Frankfurt v Barcelona

Barcelona to Win Both Halves @ 10/3

European heavyweights Barcelona are not used to competing in this competition but whilst they are here, they will probably feel they may as well win it! The Spanish giants continue their UEFA Europa League journey this Thursday with a trip to Germany to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the last eight. Ever since dropping into the competition from the UEFA Champions League, Xavi’s boys have been the favourites to win it. In truth, they should ease past the Bundesliga outfit over two legs.

It has been a tough season for Blaugrana, but the Spanish heavyweights are finally starting to put things right. Barca are undefeated in 13 league and cup matches, winning 10 and drawing three. In their last two in La Liga, Xavi’s side have beaten Real Madrid (4-0) and Sevilla (1-0). We can see Barcelona cruising to victory at Waldstadion on Thursday so put some money on the visitors to win both halves at the decent odds of 10/3.

7th Apr 2022

20:00 - Leicester v PSV Eindhoven

Leicester City Win & Over 2.5 Goals @ 9/4

Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City and Roger Schmidt’s PSV Eindhoven go head-to-head at the King Power Stadium this Thursday in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final tie. The Foxes will be hoping to make home advantage count before next week’s second game at Philips Stadion. Leicester are fancied to progress to the final four and we fancy this tie will be an entertaining one as well.

City won the FA Cup and finished fifth in the Premier League last term, but they have spent most of this season in and around mid-table. Still, Rodgers’ troops will fancy their chances of getting the better of PSV over two legs and booking their spot in the last four of the Europa Conference League. This promises to be another fascinating European night at the King Power and there should be plenty of goals, so take a punt on the Leicester win and over 2.5 of them at the nice price of 9/4.

8th Apr 2022

20:00 - Newcastle v Wolves

Draw & BTTS @ 7/2

The Premier League weekend gets up and running nice and early with a fascinating game on Friday night when Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United take on Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers at St James’ Park. After three straight defeats, the Magpies will be hoping to get back to winning ways here. They are not quite safe yet and the sooner they get to 38 points or so the better as far as all at the club are concerned. However, Wolves, who have won three of their last four, will not be an easy nut to crack.

Newcastle recently went on a run of six wins and three draws from nine, but last weekend’s heavy 5-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was United’s third successive reverse. Wolves bounced back from the shock Leeds United loss with a hard-fought 2-1 home victory over Aston Villa last time out. We are having a tough time splitting these two, so our money is going on the stalemate. The draw and both teams to score is available at 7/2.

9th Apr 2022

12:30 - Everton v Manchester United

Manchester United Win @ 3/4

Frank Lampard’s Everton welcome Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United to Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. After another damaging defeat in midweek, the Toffees slipped even further into the mire and it is now touch and go whether they will survive. United are hunting down a UEFA Champions League place, and the Red Devils will be looking for all three points in Merseyside on Saturday.

Everton led at half time at Turf Moor on Wednesday, but a poor second-half display gave Burnley the points in the big basement battle. The Toffees have very hard games to come and a condensed fixture list, starting here against opponents desperate to stay in the hunt for a top four finish. Man United have picked up just one win from their past four in the league and need to improve. Rangnick’s boys dropped points against Leicester City at home last time out, but we fancy the Manchester side to get the victory at Goodison at the weekend. The visitors are priced at 3/4 to leave with maximum points and that looks solid given the pressure on the hosts and their dire form.

9th Apr 2022

12:45 - Sheffield United v Bournemouth

Draw & Under 2.5 Goals @ 10/3

Sheffield United and Bournemouth square off at Bramall Lane in a huge EFL Championship fixture this Saturday afternoon. The Blades are in sixth spot right now, two points above seventh. The Cherries lost last time out, but Scott Parker’s men are sitting pretty in second and look a good bet for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Paul Heckingbottom has done a remarkable job since taking over at Bramall Lane, turning United into one of the strongest teams in the division over the past few months. Despite losing at West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday, the Cherries have put themselves in a great position to claim second spot. This is a tough one to call, so our money is going on the stalemate. Take a punt on the draw and under 2.5 goals at 10/3.

9th Apr 2022

15:00 - Arsenal v Brighton

Arsenal HT/FT @ 8/5

Arsenal welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Emirates Stadium for a Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon. The Gunners will want to bounce back from last Monday’s poor performance at Selhurst Park. The Seagulls have struggled for wins of late, and this will be another tough test for Graham Potter’s men. Mikel Arteta’s troops are the odds-on favourites in this one and we can see a routine victory for them given how bad Brighton’s form has been for some time now.

Arsenal have been very strong on their own patch this season, with just Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool leaving the Emirates victorious. Arteta’s boys lost to the Reds in their previous home match, but we can see the Gunners getting back to winning ways in front of their home supporters on Saturday. Brighton are not quite out of the relegation battle just yet but we can’t see them picking up anything here. There is good value in odds of 8/5 for the home team to be winning at half time and full time.

9th Apr 2022

15:00 - Southampton v Chelsea

Draw @ 11/4

Thomas Tuchel takes his Chelsea side to St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon to face Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton in the Premier League. After two damaging defeats over the past week, the Blues will be desperate to get back to winning ways here. The Saints can be a tough nut to crack on their day, though Chelsea are the favourites with the bookies. On home soil though, we fancy the underdogs can get a bit of a result here.

It has been an extremely bad week for the Blues. Last weekend, Chelsea were hammered at home by west London rivals Brentford in the Premier League. Tuchel’s team were then beaten 3-1 at home by Real Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final in midweek. Southampton are without a win in five in all competitions, though they did draw at Leeds United last time out. Back the draw in this one at the very big price of 11/4.

9th Apr 2022

17:30 - Aston Villa v Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur Win & BTTS @ 10/3

On Saturday evening in the Premier League, Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa entertain Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park. The Villans are looking to stop a run of three straight defeats, Gerrard’s bright start as Villa boss having ground to a halt of late. In contrast, Spurs head to the Midlands on the back of three consecutive Premier League victories. Who will come out on top at Villa Park in this one?

Gerrard’s men have been inconsistent of late. Before the trio of losses, Aston Villa had won three on the bounce, seeing off Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Leeds United without conceding a single goal. Tottenham moved back into the top four after last weekend’s 5-1 home success over Newcastle United. Given how they started the season Conte has to be given a lot of credit and right now they look really good to secure a top four spot. The Lilywhites will fancy their chances here, and we like the look of 10/3 for the Tottenham win and both teams to score.

10th Apr 2022

14:00 - Brentford v West Ham

West Ham United Win @ 31/20

Brentford and West Ham United clash in an all-London Premier League affair this Sunday. The Bees will still be buzzing from last weekend’s stunning win at Stamford Bridge. Can Thomas Frank’s troops follow that up with three points against the Hammers on Sunday? West Ham, who are hunting down a UEFA Champions League place, are the slight favourites in this one.

Brentford have been in excellent form of late, recording three wins from four at just the right time. The Bees stunned Chelsea at the Bridge last weekend, picking up a famous 4-1 victory. West Ham secured a much-needed 2-1 home success over Everton in their last league game. The Hammers are in the mix for Europe and David Moyes’ men would love all three points at the Brentford Community Stadium. The West Ham win is available at a price of 31/20.

10th Apr 2022

14:00 - Leicester v Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace to Win by One Goal @ 7/2

Leicester City and Crystal Palace lock horns at the King Power Stadium this Sunday in Premier League action. The pair are evenly matched as both have taken 37 points so far. However, the Foxes, who are below on goal difference, have two games in hand on the London club. Will Brendan Rodgers’ side make home advantage count in this one?

Leicester battled hard to leave Old Trafford with a 1-1 draw last Saturday. As for the Eagles, they picked up a sensational 3-0 victory over in-form Arsenal at Selhurst Park on Monday. Patrick Vieira’s men have won five and drawn two of their last seven in all competitions and have been beaten just once since January. We can see Palace edging this one at the King Power – you can get odds of 7/2 for the Londoners to win by one goal.

10th Apr 2022

14:00 - Norwich v Burnley

Burnley Win @ 31/20

Dean Smith’s Norwich City and Sean Dyche’s Burnley go head-to-head in a Premier League basement battle at Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon. The Clarets claimed a vital victory over fellow strugglers Everton on Wednesday, moving to within one point of safety. Can Dyche’s boys follow that up with another crucial three points at the weekend?

Norwich look to be heading for another instant return to the EFL Championship, as the Canaries are rock bottom of the table on 18 points. The Norfolk club are seven points adrift of safety. Wins have been hard to come by for both teams this season, but Burnley picked up the biggest three points of their season last time out. The Clarets will still be on a high from that one, and the away win on Sunday is available at the decent price of 31/20.

10th Apr 2022

15:00 - Fulham v Coventry

Fulham to Win to Nil @ 11/8

EFL Championship leaders Fulham will be hoping to take another giant leap towards promotion to the Premier League with three points against Coventry City on Sunday. If results go their way this weekend, the Cottagers could be 20 points clear of third spot. Marco Silva’s men should be too strong for Mark Robins’ Sky Blues.

Fulham picked up an excellent 1-0 win at Middlesbrough in midweek, with the prolific Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring the only goal of the game. Victory at the Riverside Stadium was the club’s 25th of what has been an outstanding Championship campaign. Coventry have had a decent season, but Fulham should secure a routine home win here. Their last two wins have come with clean sheets, and the hosts are priced at 11/8 to win to nil again this weekend.

10th Apr 2022

16:30 - Manchester City v Liverpool

Draw & BTTS @ 7/2

The biggest game of the Premier League season so far will take place at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City welcome Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to Manchester. The Reds have done a remarkable job keeping up with City’s relentless pace at the top, and the winners of this will sit proudly at the summit with seven games to play.

These two have been the standout teams in England’s top tier this season, and the giants have been hard to keep apart of late. There was also nothing to split the pair when they squared off at Anfield back in October, playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw. This will no doubt be another tight and tense affair between England’s elite, so we predict this will end in a draw with both teams scoring which is available to back at odds of 7/2.

11th Apr 2022

19:45 - Huddersfield v Luton

Draw & BTTS @ 10/3

Carlos Corberan’s Huddersfield Town and Nathan Jones’ Luton Town meet at the John Smith’s Stadium on Monday night. These two clubs have arguably been the two surprise packages in the EFL Championship, with both teams sitting in the play-off places at the business end of the season. Who will come out on top in this promotion six-pointer in West Yorkshire?

Huddersfield are in third position, a point above the fourth-place Hatters. After no wins in four league and cup games, the Terriers returned to winning ways with a vital 1-0 victory at Hull City last time out. Luton are unbeaten in four games and have won two and drawn two. They drew 0-0 at Kenilworth Road in October, and a point apiece would be a decent result for both clubs on Monday. The draw and both teams to score has caught the eye at odds of 10/3.

12th Apr 2022

20:00 - Real Madrid v Chelsea

Draw & BTTS @ 10/3

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid welcome Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea to the Santiago Bernabeu this Tuesday for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie. The Spanish giants have a handy lead after an impressive victory at Stamford Bridge last week. Will Real see the job through in front of their home supporters?

Karim Benzema was on fire for Madrid in the first leg, netting a treble at the Bridge to help his side to a stunning 3-1 win. The Blues were not at the races in that one, though they did strike back with a thumping 6-0 away win at Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday. We fancy Chelsea to make a game of it in the Spanish capital, but Real should go through. Back the draw and both teams to score at odds of 10/3.

12th Apr 2022

20:00 - Bayern Munich v Villarreal

Bayern Munich to Win -1 @ 4/6

Julian Nagelsmann’s Bayern Munich take on Unai Emery’s Villarreal in a UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night. The German champions have work to do in this two-legged tie after falling to a narrow defeat at the Estadio de la Ceramica last week. Despite being behind in the tie, the Bavarians are the strong favourites to reach the last four of the competition.

Arnaut Danjuma’s early goal in Villarreal last Wednesday gave the Yellow Submarine a priceless 1-0 home victory over Bayern. However, that was Munich’s first defeat in nine matches. Nagelsmann’s troops have been superb on home soil this term, and FC Hollywood should turn this one around at the Allianz Arena. Our money is going on Bayern Munich to win with a -1 goal handicap, which is available at the decent odds of 4/6.

13th Apr 2022

20:00 - Atletico Madrid v Manchester City

Manchester City Win & Over 2.5 Goals @ 2/1

Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City battle at the Wanda Metropolitano this Wednesday in a mouth-watering UEFA Champions League quarter-final. The first leg was dominated by Man City, though Pep’s boys only managed a 1-0 win. Will City see the job through, or can Simeone’s stubborn Atleti upset the Champions League favourites?

Madrid frustrated Man City for large chunks of the first leg at the Etihad Stadium, but the Citizens were patient and eventually found a breakthrough. With 20 minutes to play, Kevin De Bruyne netted the only goal of the game in Manchester. Atleti will need to be bolder in this one, but that could play into Man City’s hands. Check out the tempting odds of 2/1 for the away win and over 2.5 goals.

13th Apr 2022

20:00 - Liverpool v Benfica

Liverpool HT/FT @ 5/6

Liverpool entertain Benfica at Anfield on Wednesday in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie. The Reds have one foot in the final four after an impressive win in Portugal last week, and Jurgen Klopp will be looking for another victory in midweek. As you would expect, the Premier League giants over the overwhelming favourites to go through.

Liverpool were fast out of the blocks in Lisbon, with Ibrahima Konate opening the scoring after just 17 minutes. Sadio Mane doubled their advantage on 34 minutes before Darwin Nunez pulled one back just after half time. Luis Diaz scored three minutes from time to restore Liverpool’s two-goal lead. The Reds should be too strong for Benfica again on Wednesday and there is good value in the odds of 5/6 for the hosts to be winning at half time and full time.

14th Apr 2022

17:45 - PSV Eindhoven v Leicester City

Leicester City Win @ 11/4

Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City are back in UEFA Europa Conference League action this Thursday when they travel to Holland to play Roger Schmidt’s PSV Eindhoven. There was nothing to split the pair in the first leg of this quarter-final, as the Foxes and PSV played out a tense goalless draw at the King Power Stadium. Who will edge this one at the Philips Stadion and seal their passage through to the last four? We think it could go either way which means that at the odds there is only one bet for us here.

Leicester have had a topsy-turvy European campaign this season, but they have been one of the favourites to lift the inaugural Europa Conference League trophy ever since dropping out of the UEFA Europa League. City would have wanted a win in the first leg and now must do it the hard way in Holland, but our money is on the Leicester victory given the generous odds of 11/4.

14th Apr 2022

20:00 - Lyon v West Ham United

Lyon Win @ Evens

David Moyes takes his West Ham United troops to France this Thursday to face Lyon in the UEFA Europa League. This quarter-final tie is in the balance after the two played out a score draw at the London Stadium in the first leg a week ago. The hosts are the bookies’ favourites to go through, but West Ham will fancy their chances at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais despite their somewhat stuttering form of late. Lyon are currently 10th in the French top flight so in theory at least there is not too much for West Ham to be concerned about.

The eventful first leg at the London Stadium finished in a 1-1 draw. Aaron Cresswell was sent off just before half time, but the Hammers took a 52nd-minute lead thanks to Jarrod Bowen. Tottenham Hotspur loanee Tanguy Ndombele levelled for Lyon shortly after and the visitors managed to claim a very handy away draw. The Irons have struggled on their travels of late, and despite their lacklustre domestic form we fancy the hosts to nick the win and go through. The Lyon victory is well enough priced at evens.

14th Apr 2022

20:00 - Rangers v Sporting Braga

Rangers Win & BTTS @ 10/3

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers and Carlos Carvalhal’s Sporting Braga meet in an intriguing UEFA Europa League quarter-final, second leg at Ibrox Stadium this Thursday. The Gers fell to a narrow defeat in Portugal seven nights ago, but the Scottish champions will be looking to overturn the deficit in front of their own fans in midweek. Their fortunes have been rather mixed of late and the Scottish title is starting to look beyond them but dare they dream of European silverware?

As anticipated, it was a tight first leg at the Estadio Municipal last week. Abel Ruiz’s strike five minutes before the break proved to be the only goal of the game. This will no doubt be another close encounter between the pair, but we can see Rangers getting the win this time. There could be goals in this one, so check out the tempting odds of 10/3 for the Rangers win and both teams to score at Ibrox.

14th Apr 2022

20:00 - Barcelona v Eintracht Frankfurt

Barcelona to Win Both Halves @ 9/4

Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt go head-to-head at the Camp Nou in a UEFA Europa League quarter-final on Thursday. Barca, who are the tournament favourites, have work to do after being held to a 1-1 draw in Germany. The Spanish heavyweights are the clear favourites to book their spot in the last four, but can Eintracht cause a big upset in Catalonia? It would take something really special to do that but we predict a fairly routine night for the Spanish giants.

Although they have not been at their best this season, Barcelona are in fine fettle ahead of this one. Blaugrana are undefeated in 15 league and cup matches, winning 11 and drawing four. Barca should make light work of Frankfurt on Thursday and ease into the final four of this season’s Europa League. We fancy the hosts to dominate, and you can get the very generous odds of 9/4 for Barcelona to win both halves.

15th Apr 2022

12:30 - Luton Town v Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest Win & BTTS @ 9/2

On Friday afternoon in the EFL Championship, Luton Town and Nottingham Forest meet at Kenilworth Road. Both teams are in the play-off spots at the business end of the season, with the Reds currently two points above the Hatters. This promotion six-pointer promises to be a mouth-watering game in Bedfordshire in what looks set to be a promotion battle that will go right to the wire, with so many teams still well in the hunt for the play-offs at least.

Luton fell to a disappointing defeat to fellow promotion hopefuls Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Monday night. They have now gone three games without a win, slipping up at very much the wrong time in the season. In stark contrast, Forest are the form side in the division at present, winning five in a row. The Reds are unbeaten in 10 Championship games (seven wins, three draws), and we fancy Steve Cooper’s boys to come out on top in this one. Take a punt on the Nottingham Forest win and both teams to score at the really generous price of 9/2.

15th Apr 2022

15:00 - Bournemouth v Middlesbrough

Bournemouth to Win by One Goal @ 13/5

We have another top of the table clash to enjoy as Bournemouth and Middlesbrough face off at the Vitality Stadium on Good Friday in EFL Championship action. With the Cherries hunting down automatic promotion, while Boro look to get back into the play-off places, this is a huge game for the pair. Bournemouth are the bookies’ favourites to get the win on their own patch and they should have just enough to get the job done.

Scott Parker’s side start the weekend four points clear of third with two games in hand. With just a handful of matches to go after this one, three points on Friday would be massive. Boro are in patchy form and find themselves in eighth after they appeared to be charging towards the play-offs. Chris Wilder’s men will not be an easy nut to crack, but our money is going on a narrow Cherries win. The home team are available at 13/5 to win by exactly one goal.

15th Apr 2022

17:30 - Huddersfield Town v Queens Park Rangers

Huddersfield Town to Win to Nil @ 5/2

Carlos Corberan’s high-flying Huddersfield Town welcome Mark Warburton’s out-of-form Queens Park Rangers to the John Smith’s Stadium in an EFL Championship fixture on Friday evening. After a hard-fought win over Luton Town on Monday, the Terriers moved back into third place. As for Rangers, they have lost five on the bounce and will need a few favours if they are to go up this season. They are currently 11th, though so tight is the table that even they are only six points below the play-off spots.

Huddersfield have got back on track thanks to two enormous wins. They beat Hull City 1-0 away from home before getting the better of Luton on Monday. In reality QPR’s play-off hopes are all but over after a dreadful run of results. Since a 2-1 home victory over Blackpool in February, Rangers have gone on to lose seven of the following eight. Town’s last two wins have come with clean sheets, and you can get 5/2 for the Terriers to win to nil again on Friday.

15th Apr 2022

20:00 - Derby County v Fulham

Fulham HT/FT @ 7/5

On Friday night, EFL Championship leaders Fulham make the trip to Pride Park to play Derby County, who are joint bottom of the league. The Cottagers have won just two of their last five, but Marco Silva’s boys will want all three points on Friday after last Sunday’s disappointing 3-1 home reverse to Coventry City. Fulham are the big favourites here.

Derby’s miserable season is almost over, and the Rams look to be heading for EFL League One. Wayne Rooney’s boys are nine points behind 21st-place Reading with just five matches to play. In contrast, Fulham are a huge 10 points above second and are closing in on an instant return to the Premier League. The Londoners should bounce back in style on Friday, and we are backing Fulham to be winning at half time and full time at Pride Park (7/5).

16th Apr 2022

12:30 - Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton & Hove Albion

Tottenham to Win Both Halves @ 3/1

The early kick off in the Premier League on Saturday sees fourth-placed Tottenham host mid-table Brighton in a match that the home side will be confident of winning. Spurs have posted a fine run of results and have won four on the spin since losing 3-2 away to Man United in mid-March. One of those four victories was the reverse fixture against Brighton when they won 2-0, and we can envisage a similarly untroubled triumph in this one.

Brighton don’t have all that much to play for in the remainder of the season as they are basically safe from the spectre of relegation and have amassed too few points to have a realistic chance of European qualification. We are not questioning the professionalism of the Brighton players, but we think the home side are going to be far more up for the fight in this one. As such, the bet for us is Tottenham to win both halves at odds of 3/1.

16th Apr 2022

15:00 - Manchester United v Norwich City

Manchester United Win & BTTS @ 19/10

Things are getting desperate for rock-bottom Norwich City in their quest to avoid relegation to the Championship, but when you’re badly in need of points, a trip to Old Trafford is never a great prospect. But the Red Devils aren’t exactly on fire at the moment and Dean Smith’s men will fancy their chances of leaving Manchester with a point in the bag, something achieved by Southampton, Watford and Leicester in the last couple of months.

Ralf Rangnick has not had a wholly positive impact at Man United and though there have been good results here and there, unfortunately for him and his side, negative outcomes have been more frequent. They are more than 20 points behind league leader Man City and on current form they might struggle to land a Europa League place, let alone make it into the Champions League. Having said that, they should have just about enough to get the three points in this one and we’re backing the home side to win the match but with both teams scoring, which is available at odds of 19/10.

16th Apr 2022

15:00 - Southampton v Arsenal

Arsenal Win & Under 2.5 Goals @ 7/2

Southampton host Arsenal on Saturday afternoon with both sides in something of a slump. Not so long ago, Arsenal looked in a very good position to finish in the top four and possibly grab third place. Alas, recent defeats to Liverpool, Brighton and Crystal Palace have seen the Gunners slip back to fifth place in the table with work to do to get back in the mix. Can they get back to winning ways here?

The Saints, meanwhile, have had a woeful run of form that has included an expected though comprehensive 6-0 defeat to Chelsea and far less expected losses to Watford, Newcastle and Aston Villa. As things stand, Southampton are 12 points clear of the relegation zone, but if they don’t arrest their freefall soon, they’ll be dragged into the dogfight. Unfortunately for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side, we can’t see them holding off an Arsenal side who are determined to make it back into the Champions League. It might be a close call but we’re backing the visitors to win this one with under 2.5 goals scored in the game at odds of 7/2.

16th Apr 2022

15:00 - Watford v Brentford

Draw @ 23/10

Struggling Watford host the relatively high-flying Brentford on Saturday with the home side getting to the point that anything less than three points could be disastrous. Brentford have given an excellent account of themselves in the top flight this term and after posting four wins from their last five matches, they are in 13th position in the table and moving away from the relegation zone. Their recent 4-1 away victory over Chelsea was perhaps their best performance of the season and then they followed it up with a comfortable 2-0 triumph at home over West Ham. If they can recreate anything like those performances here, they should leave with the points.

Watford are scrapping for their lives though and despite losing four of their last five in the league, we think they might raise their game sufficiently to get a point from this one. A point might not prove much good to them come the end of the season, but it’s still the bet for us here at odds of 23/10.

17th Apr 2022

14:15 - Newcastle United v Leicester City

Newcastle to Win 2-1 @ 9/1

Newcastle host Leicester in the Premier League on Sunday with the home side still needing a few more points to absolutely secure their position in the top flight for another season. Leicester, meanwhile, are in ninth place and have an outside chance of kicking on to secure a European spot. This could prove quite an even contest that could go either way but we suspect the greater urgency on the part of the hosts could end up making the difference.

Although Newcastle got battered 5-1 recently at Spurs, their last outing was a solid 1-0 home win over a very decent Wolves side. They also won their two previous home league matches by one-goal margins (against Aston Villa and Brighton) and beat Everton 3-1 at St James’ before that. We think a narrow home victory is on the cards again here and we’re backing Newcastle to win 2-1 at a chunky price of 9/1.

17th Apr 2022

14:15 - West Ham United v Burnley

West Ham to be Winning at Half Time and Full Time @ 7/4

West Ham host relegation-threatened Burnley on Sunday with the home side still just about in the hunt for a Champions League place. Realistically the Hammers are far more likely to end up in the Europa League, and they still have a battle on their hands for that. But recent home wins against Sevilla in the Europa League and Aston Villa and Everton on the domestic front will give them confidence ahead of this one.

Burnley, meanwhile, are heading towards the last chance saloon as they languish in 18th position in the table, four points behind Everton (who they beat recently in a massive relegation six-pointer). Unfortunately for Sean Dyche’s team, the ability to turn solid performances into victories has not been quite regular enough for them to break out of the relegation zone. With their recent defeat to fellow strugglers Norwich really knocking the wind out of their sails, we think the visitors could really struggle here and we think West Ham will cruise to a relatively comfortable victory. As such, we’re backing the home side to be winning at half time and full time at odds of 7/4.

16th Apr 2022

15:30 - Manchester City v Liverpool

Over 3.5 Goals @ 15/8

This FA Cup semi final between Manchester City and Liverpool on Saturday is sure to attract plenty of neutrals and after two 2-2s in the league between them this term, we expect another thrilling encounter. A match between these sides is big enough to grace any final, let alone a semi, and indeed it might yet prove to be a forerunner of the Champions League final in May after both sides made it into the semis of that competition in midweek. But which will have the edge as they seek to take a step towards domestic cup glory?

As exemplified by the draws in the league and indeed the narrow margin between them in the table (City are a point ahead of Liverpool as things stand), this could be another close one. Throw in the unpredictable nature of cup matches and the fact that both sides will undoubtedly be going all out for victory and this could very well go either way. We wouldn’t bet against another 2-2 or even a 3-3, but in case either side edges it, we’re opting instead for over 3.5 goals to be scored, a bet that would have paid out in five of the last six meetings between the sides.

17th Apr 2022

16:30 - Chelsea v Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace to Win @ 5/1

In the second FA Cup semi final of the weekend, Chelsea face Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday afternoon. Given that Chelsea lost in the final last season and the season before, they will be very eager to get to another final and put things right. Crystal Palace are never an easy nut to crack, however, and they will be chasing their own ambitions for cup glory. After Chelsea have suffered a couple of potentially damaging defeats of late, could Palace be playing the Blues at just the right time?

Chelsea were shunted out of the Champions League in midweek after going down 5-4 on aggregate to Spanish giants Real Madrid. Thomas Tuchel’s men will at least gain some confidence from their 3-2 victory on Spanish soil, but it proved insufficient to see them through. After a recent home defeat to Brentford too, we think the door could be open for Palace to nick a shock win here. We’re taking a punt on the Palace victory in 90 minutes at decent odds of 5/1.

18th Apr 2022

12:30 - Middlesbrough v Huddersfield

Draw @ 23/10

Easter is a busy time for Championship footballers and prior to this clash Boro and Town face Bournemouth and QPR respectively. Ahead of those Good Friday games, both are still very much in the hunt for a promotion place but in reality if the Premier League does beckon for either side it seems likely to be via the play-offs. The pair are currently eighth and third, though only seven points apart, with Boro having a game in hand too.

The top of the second tier table really is very tight and there isn’t too much between many of the teams battling it out. That is certainly the case with these two, although it is the hosts who are looking to complete the double over their opponents having won 2-1 in West Yorkshire back in November. Since then Huddersfield have been superb and at one stage were on a 16-game unbeaten run. Their form hasn’t been quite as good over the last few games but then neither has Boro’s so on balance a draw looks the value bet here with the promotion pressure starting to mount.

18th Apr 2022

15:00 - Barnsley v Peterborough United

Correct Score 1-1 @ 6/1

These two are mired in the relegation battle at the other end of the table to the two sides above and in truth the battle may already have been lost. With time running out Reading have a commanding lead over this duo and Derby and the trio who have made up the bottom three for so long look highly likely to stay there. Certainly one would imagine that if we are to see a miracle then this game is a must-win one for both but unfortunately, we can see it ending perfectly for Reading, in a draw.

Barnsley drew 1-1 with the Royals at the start of the month and have managed the same result against both Fulham and Stoke since March. The Posh have also drawn games by that scoreline three times in the same period, including in both of their last two. The reverse fixture ended 0-0 and so everything really is pointing towards a low-scoring stalemate in this one and at nice odds our prediction here is 1-1, despite it being a result that does neither side any real favours.

18th Apr 2022

17:30 - Bristol City v Sheffield United

Under 2.5 goals @ 7/10

Bristol City are one of a relatively small number of Championship sides who have, for some time already, not had an awful lot to play for. At the time of writing, they are 20 points from the top six and 16 points above the drop zone and are mathematically assured of being unable to move into either. In contrast, the Blades are currently sixth and occupying the last play-off place. However, with just 10 points covering Huddersfield in third and QPR in 11th position, and only six points between fourth and ninth, Sheffield United still have a lot of work to do to make sure of their top-six place.

Last time out they got a solid 0-0 draw with Bournemouth but it is not long since they were surprised by Coventry, who hammered them 4-1. Indeed, the South Yorkshire side have now dropped points in four of their last six games. All of those six, aside from the game against Coventry, saw fewer than three goals and with the pressure on we predict another low-scoring clash here so under 2.5 looks good to us.

18th Apr 2022

20:00 - Nottingham Forest v West Brom

Nottingham Forest Win and BTTS @ 3/1

These sides have had very differing fortunes over the course of this season with the Baggies having a bright start and slipping away and Forest doing the exact opposite. Indeed, Steve Cooper has done a superb job since being appointed in September last year and boasts an amazing 60% win rate. That has seen the Reds rise to fourth in the table and with games in hand on teams around them they may yet challenge Bournemouth for the second automatic promotion place.

In contrast, West Brom are down in 12th and will probably already have their minds wandering to the summer holidays, despite the efforts of experienced boss Steve Bruce. That said, the Baggies have been a hard team to predict of late, beating both of the top two since mid-March but mixing that in with losses to the likes of Swansea, Birmingham and, last time out, Stoke. Forest are on a fine winning streak though, are scoring goals for fun and need the result far more so back them to win an entertaining clash in which both teams score.

19th Apr 2022

19:45 - Fulham v Preston North End

Fulham Win & BTTS @ 9/4

Runaway EFL Championship leaders Fulham welcome Preston North End to Craven Cottage this Tuesday. Marco Silva’s men are closing in on an instant return to the Premier League, and the Cottagers are the clear favourites in this one. Will the Whites rack up another three points, or can Preston cause the leaders problems in west London?

Fulham have lost their last two, but the Londoners are still well clear at the top of the Championship table. Silva’s side have taken 83 points from 41 games. North End are in good form, picking up seven points from their last three games. They have been tough to beat since Ryan Lowe took over, and the Lancashire outfit will be looking for a top-half finish. After back-to-back defeats, Fulham will want to return to winning ways in midweek. We predict the home victory and both teams to score in this one at odds of 9/4.

19th Apr 2022

20:00 - Liverpool v Manchester United

Liverpool to Win -1 @ Evens

Rivals Liverpool and Manchester United do battle at Anfield in a mouth-watering Premier League match on Tuesday night. With Manchester City not playing until Wednesday, three points for the Reds will lift them back to the top of the table. However, United still have eyes on the top four and will be desperate to rain on Liverpool’s parade at Anfield.

Liverpool booked their place in another final at the weekend, beating title rivals Man City in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium. In the Premier League, the Merseysiders have won 10 and drawn two of the 12 matches they’ve played since their last defeat. Man United bounced back from the Everton defeat with a hard-fought 3-2 home win over Norwich City last time out, but we fancy Liverpool to get the win here. Take a punt on the hosts to win with a -1 goal handicap at odds of evens.

20th Apr 2022

19:45 - Chelsea v Arsenal

Chelsea Win @ 5/6

London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal meet at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Wednesday night. The Blues sit third with 62 points to their name and virtually assured of a top four finish, while the Gunners are currently eight points behind in sixth but very much in the battle for the final Champions League place. In their last league outing, Chelsea thumped Southampton 6-0 at St Mary’s – will Thomas Tuchel’s team rack up another three points here?

Chelsea have had an indifferent time of late. Over the past week, the Blues have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League and have booked their place in the FA Cup final. Arsenal’s top-four hopes have been dealt a huge blow after three Premier League defeats in a row, and we can see Mikel Arteta’s men coming up short at the Bridge in midweek. Our money is going on the Chelsea win, which is available at excellent looking odds of 5/6.

20th Apr 2022

19:45 - Everton v Leicester

Draw & BTTS @ 10/3

Frank Lampard’s Everton and Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City square off at Goodison Park this Wednesday in the Premier League. This is a gigantic fixture for the Toffees, who hover just three points above the drop zone, albeit with this game in hand. As for the Foxes, they are in ninth position with 40 points to their name and ostensibly have little to play for in the league. Who will come out on top in Merseyside?

Everton picked up an invaluable three points in their last game, defeating Manchester United by a goal to nil at home. That gave them a little breathing space and was a huge win against a side at the other end of the table. Leicester returned from their heroic UEFA Europa Conference League win at PSV Eindhoven with a disappointing league loss to Newcastle United at the weekend. The Foxes have been far busier over the last week and may start to focus their energies on Europe. This could go either way at Goodison, but we fancy the duo to cancel each other out. You can get big odds of 10/3 for the draw and both teams to score.

20th Apr 2022

19:45 - Newcastle v Crystal Palace

Newcastle United to Win by One Goal @ 11/4

Newcastle United welcome Crystal Palace to St James’ Park in Premier League action on Wednesday. Last Sunday’s 2-1 home success over Leicester City was the Magpies’ eighth league win in 12. The Eagles will still be licking their wounds after the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, though they have been in good form in the Premier League of late and can be happy with their work this season.

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle have been sensational at St James’ Park over the last couple of months or so. They are unbeaten at home in the league since champions Manchester City left with all three points in December. Since a 1-1 draw with Watford, United have won five on the bounce at St James’. Palace will be no pushovers, but we are backing a narrow Newcastle victory here. Take a punt on the hosts to win by exactly one goal at 11/4.

20th Apr 2022

20:00 - Manchester City v Brighton

Manchester City to Win -1 Goal @ 4/7

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City take on Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday. With Liverpool showing no signs of letting up in the title race, only three points will do for Man City in midweek. However, the Seagulls have picked up two superb away wins in their last two and will fancy their chances of causing an upset in Manchester.

After losing to Liverpool in an FA Cup semi-final at the weekend, Pep’s boys will be out for blood here. In the league, City have suffered just one defeat since October. Brighton have won at Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in their last two games, but this will be a stern test for Potter’s men. Man City should be too strong, and there is decent value in 4/7 for the hosts to win -1.

21st Apr 2022

19:45 - Burnley v Southampton

Draw & BTTS @ 10/3

Burnley welcome Southampton to Turf Moor for a massive Premier League matchup this Thursday night. Life after Sean Dyche for the Clarets started with a respectable 1-1 draw with West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend. They missed a penalty at 1-0 up though, so may well feel that it was two points that got away. Can Burnley pick up a precious three points in front of their home supporters in this one to put some pressure on Everton and Leeds?

In their previous home game, Burnley edged a five-goal thriller against relegation rivals Everton. The three points ended a run of three successive home losses but the 2-0 loss at Norwich that followed led to Dyche’s sacking. Southampton are one of the most unpredictable teams in the division, and Ralph Hasenhuttl’s troops shocked Arsenal at St Mary’s in their last outing. The Saints head to Turf Moor as the slight favourites, but our money is going on the stalemate. The pair drew 2-2 at St Mary’s in October, and the draw and both teams to score on Thursday is priced at 10/3.

22nd Apr 2022

19:45 - Huddersfield v Barnsley

Huddersfield Town to Win -1 Goal @ 6/4

It’s West hosting South as Yorkshire sides Huddersfield Town and Barnsley meet at the John Smith’s Stadium in the EFL Championship this Friday night. The Terriers are riding high in third position, while the Tykes prop up the Championship table and are all-but relegated. Town can make sure of a play-off place this weekend, and Carlos Corberan’s boys are the odds-on favourites to win this one against a team that needs to win their last four games to have even the tiniest chance of staying up.

Huddersfield are right back on track after taking 10 points from the last 12 on offer. On Monday, goals from Mahamadou-Naby Sarr and Jordan Rhodes earned the Terriers a vital 2-0 victory at Middlesbrough. Barnsley’s 2-0 loss to Peterborough United saw them slip to the bottom, 11 points away from safety. We can see Huddersfield easing to another home victory on Friday, so check out the solid odds of 6/4 for the hosts to win –1 and condemn Barnsley to League One football.

23rd Apr 2022

12:30 - Arsenal v Manchester United

Draw & Over 2.5 Goals @ 10/1

Old rivals Arsenal and Manchester United do battle at the Emirates Stadium this Saturday in a huge game in the Premier League. The two still have top-four aspirations, and both clubs will be desperate for all three points to get back on track after some truly awful performances and results of late. Victory for one of these on Saturday could be massive in the race for the UEFA Champions League, whilst top-four rivals Spurs and West Ham will be hoping for a draw. The Gunners are the slight favourites on home soil but we think they are a shade too short.

Arsenal have hit a rough patch of form at just the wrong time, losing ground in the race for the top four after a string of defeats. As for Man United, they fell to an embarrassing 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield in midweek, that result coming on top of the 5-0 reversal they suffered against the Merseysiders at Old Trafford. This one could go either way in the capital, but we can see these two evenly matched teams playing out an entertaining draw. The draw and over 2.5 goals is priced at massive odds of 10/1 and is worth a small punt.

23rd Apr 2022

12:30 - Luton v Blackpool

Luton Town Win & BTTS @ 10/3

High flying Luton Town take on Blackpool at Kenilworth Road in the EFL Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Hatters are closing in on a play-off place, while Pool are in 16th spot at present. Town have arguably been the surprise package in the second tier this season, and Nathan Jones’ troops look nailed on for a top-six finish.

Luton have bounced back from the disappointing Huddersfield Town loss with vital back-to-back victories over Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City. Blackpool have had a decent first season back in the Championship after winning the EFL League One play-offs last term. The Hatters have suffered just one home league reverse since November, and Jones’ boys will fancy their chances in this one. Take a punt on the home win and both teams to score at the very nice price of 10/3.

23rd Apr 2022

15:00 - Manchester City v Watford

Manchester City to Win -1 Goal @ 1/3

Manchester City welcome struggling Watford to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this Saturday. The Citizens are embroiled in a fascinating battle with Liverpool for the league title and were knocked off top spot for the first time in a long time after Liverpool’s win over Man United. City and the Reds have been the two top dogs in England by far this season, and the race for the trophy will no doubt go to the wire. Can Pep Guardiola’s boys pick up another precious three points at the weekend?

Man City are a formidable force on their own patch, and they should cruise to victory here, even if they choose to make a number of changes. The Hornets are second from bottom and are in danger of dropping back down to the EFL Championship. City won 3-1 in the reverse game at Vicarage Road back in December, and we are backing the champions to prevail by a margin again. You can get 1/3 for the hosts to win -1.

23rd Apr 2022

17:30 - Brentford v Tottenham

Brentford Win @ 16/5

London sides Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur meet at the Brentford Community Stadium in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon. The Bees have had a brilliant first season in the Premier League and have looked in no real danger of going down. Can Thomas Frank’s men cause another upset at the weekend, inspired by former Spurs favourite Christian Eriksen?

Brentford are in stunning form, picking up five wins from their last six Premier League matches. After a 2-1 loss at Leicester City on 20th March, the Bees have secured successive victories over Chelsea, West Ham United and Watford. Tottenham’s four-game winning run came to an end last Saturday, as they were beaten at home by Brighton & Hove Albion. Our money is going on the home side in this one, and the Brentford win is available at the tempting price of 16/5.

24th Apr 2022

14:00 - Chelsea v West Ham

Chelsea to Win by One Goal @ 5/2

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and David Moyes’ West Ham United square off at Stamford Bridge in a Premier League London derby on Sunday afternoon. The Blues fell to a disappointing home reverse to Arsenal last time out, which was a third successive loss on their own patch. The Gunners are now just five points behind Tuchel’s men who still have work to do to secure a top four spot. Chelsea will be eager to get back to winning ways in front of their own supporters on Sunday but face another tough London derby.

Chelsea fans should not be too downbeat though as, despite the recent defeats, the Blues are still sitting in third spot. As for the Hammers, they are currently 10 points behind in seventh. West Ham are still pushing for a place in the top four, but the UEFA Europa League is the priority and more realistic aim now. We can see Chelsea edging a tight tussle at the Bridge, so take a punt on the home side to win by one goal at big odds of 5/2.

24th Apr 2022

14:00 - Burnley v Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers Win @ 17/10

Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers meet at Turf Moor in a Premier League affair on Sunday. The Clarets are fighting for their lives, and three points on home soil this weekend could be massive in their quest for survival. Wolves are in eighth right now, but Bruno Lage’s men have lost three of their last four away games and are stuttering just as they seemed able to press for a Europa League finish.

Burnley have had a tough season, and the long-serving Sean Dyche was surprisingly relieved of his duties after a 2-0 loss at Norwich City a couple of weeks back. Lage took a little time to settle in at Molineux, but the new boss was beginning to enjoy life in the Midlands until recent shaky results. Wanderers will be looking for a strong finish to their campaign, and we fancy them to edge this one. The Wolves win is priced at 17/10 and given just how poor Burnley are that looks generous.

24th Apr 2022

14:00 - Brighton v Southampton

Draw & BTTS @ 7/2

Brighton & Hove Albion take on Southampton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday. After three tough away games, the Seagulls are back in front of their home supporters and will be looking for their first home victory since Boxing Day. Southampton are one of the most unpredictable teams in the top tier, and this promises to be an entertaining encounter at the Amex.

Brighton made a blistering start to their season, but Graham Potter’s men have struggled for wins on home soil over the past few months. In fact, the victory over Brentford on Boxing Day remains their only league win at the Amex since September. The Saints will be looking for a top-half finish, and we are backing Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men to leave East Sussex with a point. The draw and both teams to score is available at 7/2.

24th Apr 2022

16:30 - Liverpool v Everton

Liverpool to Win -2 Goals @ 11/8

Fierce rivals Liverpool and Everton lock horns at Anfield in a mouth-watering Premier League game on Sunday afternoon. The Reds are involved in a bruising battle with Manchester City for the league title, while the Toffees are languishing at the other end of the Premier League table. In-form Liverpool are the overwhelming favourites to win this Merseyside derby and having brushed aside Man United 4-0 at home last time out, we think something similar looks likely here.

Since ending 2021 with a narrow defeat to Leicester City, Liverpool have dropped just four points in the Premier League. During that run, the Reds have picked up 11 wins and drawn twice. Last Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp’s men thumped Manchester United and given Everton’s dreadful away record, we fear for them here. Liverpool won 4-1 at Goodison Park in the reverse meeting back in December, and we could see a similar outcome here. Klopp may well rest some players but even so, the hosts will be far too strong. Check out the decent odds of 11/8 for the home side to win -2.

25th Apr 2022

19:30 - Preston v Blackburn

Preston Win & Under 2.5 Goals @ 4/1

Two Lancashire teams lock horns in the EFL Championship this Monday, as Ryan Lowe’s Preston North End welcome Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers to Deepdale. After a poor run of form from the start of 2022, Blackburn’s play-off hopes are now hanging by a thread. However, three points at Deepdale on Monday would be huge and they will keep battling right until the end.

Ryan Lowe has done a steady job at Preston since taking over. Before the Fulham defeat last Tuesday, North End had taken seven points from a possible nine. Blackburn have really struggled for wins since the turn of the year, winning just four times in the Championship in 2022. Unfortunately for Rovers, we think home advantage will prove key here and our money is going on the Preston victory in this one. You can get the massive odds of 4/1 for the home win and under 2.5 goals.

25th Apr 2022

20:00 - Crystal Palace v Leeds

Draw @ 13/5

Crystal Palace take on Leeds United in an intriguing Premier League fixture at Selhurst Park on Monday night. The Eagles will be hoping to bounce back from three straight league and cup defeats. In contrast, Jesse Marsch’s United have won three and drawn one of their past four Premier League matches to fire themselves away from trouble. They still have work to do but a win here may well be enough to see them safe.

Patrick Vieira has had a successful first season at Selhurst Park. The new boss has kept Palace away from trouble and took them to an FA Cup semi-final. Leeds’ poor form has been put to bed after recent wins over Norwich City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford. The Yorkshire side are now only four points behind Palace. This is a tough one to call, so our money is going on the stalemate. The bookies are pricing the draw at generous odds of 13/5.

19:45 - Fulham v Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest Win @ 18/5

Fulham and Nottingham Forest do battle at Craven Cottage in a tasty EFL Championship fixture on Tuesday night. The Cottagers have already booked their place in next season’s Premier League after a dominant season in the second tier. Forest will be hoping to join the Londoners, with Steve Cooper’s side currently in fourth spot with 73 points to their name.

Fulham are on the cusp of claiming the Championship title. They are nine points above Bournemouth, who have a game in hand. Forest are only five points away from the Cherries, and an away win here would make things interesting, especially as Bournemouth and Forest meet at the City Ground in the penultimate game. The Reds have won seven of their last eight in the league, and the away victory on Tuesday is priced at odds of 18/5.

26th Apr 2022

19:45 - Swansea v Bournemouth

Bournemouth to Win to Nil @ 12/5

Scott Parker takes his Bournemouth side to South Wales on Tuesday to face Russell Martin’s Swansea City in the EFL Championship. The Cherries are closing in on a return to the Premier League, and three points at the Swansea.com Stadium would be huge. The Swans are unbeaten in eight but they are the second favourites in this one.

Swansea are undefeated since losing at Blackpool in mid-March since when they have won four and drawn four of their eight games. Bournemouth, meanwhile, head to Wales having won one and drawn three of their previous four fixtures. The Cherries thumped the Swans 4-0 in the reverse matchup, and our money is going on the Bournemouth victory here. Parker’s boys have kept clean sheets in three of their past four wins, and the visitors are priced at odds of 12/5 to win to nil on Tuesday.

26th Apr 2022

20:00 - Manchester City v Real Madrid

Manchester City to Win by One Goal @ 13/5

Manchester City and Real Madrid go head-to-head at the Etihad Stadium in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday evening. This is a gigantic tussle between two European heavyweights, but who will reach the final and face either Liverpool or Villarreal at the Stade de France? Man City will be desperate to take a lead to Spain but the visitors are not going to make life easy for them.

Pep Guardiola’s men edged past Spanish opposition in the previous round, seeing off Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid 1-0 on aggregate. As for Real, they beat Premier League Chelsea, who won the competition last term. On paper, these two juggernauts look hard to split, but we fancy Man City to edge the home leg. Check out the tempting odds of 13/5 for the hosts to win by one goal on Tuesday.

27th Apr 2022

19:45 - Middlesbrough v Cardiff

Middlesbrough to Win by One Goal @ 5/2

Chris Wilder’s Middlesbrough take on Steve Morison’s Cardiff City at the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday night. Boro still have eyes on an EFL Championship play-off place, but three points is a must in midweek. The Bluebirds are in poor form but have been unpredictable under Morison. Can Cardiff spring a surprise at the Riverside?

Middlesbrough’s form has faltered in recent weeks, with Wilder’s troops failing to win in five games (with two draws and three defeats). They have also lost four league and cup games in a row on home soil. Cardiff are not doing so well themselves and have lost three on the bounce and four of their past five. Middlesbrough are desperate for the points and we can see them sneaking past the Bluebirds in this one. You can get a price of 5/2 for the hosts to win by one goal.

27th Apr 2022

20:00 - Liverpool v Villarreal

Liverpool to Win -1 Goal @ 4/5

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Unai Emery’s Villarreal lock horns at Anfield on Wednesday night in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final. The Spanish side have caused a few upsets to reach the last four but the in-form Reds, who have won eight and drawn two of the last 10 matches, are the clear favourites with the bookies. Will the Merseyside giants take a handsome lead to Spain or will they fluff their lines?

Liverpool are in stunning form right now, and the quadruple is well and truly on. Villarreal have shocked Juventus and Bayern Munich in the Champions League this season, but this will be the Spanish side’s toughest challenge yet. We can see Klopp’s boys winning this first leg by a fair margin on Wednesday so we’ll be taking a look at the solid price of 4/5 for Liverpool to win with a -1 goal handicap at Anfield.

28th Apr 2022

19:45 - Manchester United v Chelsea

Chelsea Win & BTTS @ 10/3

Manchester United and Chelsea do battle at Old Trafford in a tasty Premier League fixture on Thursday night. The Blues are in third place right now, while the Red Devils are 11 points behind in sixth. The former look nailed on for a top four finish whilst the latter appear to have blown their shot at Champions League football next season. That said, neither deal is yet sealed and so both will be desperate for the win here. Chelsea have had some iffy results of late, but Thomas Tuchel’s troops head to Manchester as the slight favourites with the bookies and we think that is about right.

Man United’s top four hopes have been dealt a huge blow after three defeats from their last four. They have just had a disastrous week, losing 4-0 at Anfield and 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Chelsea left it late to see off West Ham United last time out, and we fancy the London side to nick this one at Old Trafford. Take a punt on the away win and both teams to score at the decent price of 10/3.

28th Apr 2022

20:00 - RB Leipzig v Rangers

RB Leipzig to Win -1 Goal @ Evens

Giovanni van Bronckhorst takes his Rangers side to the Red Bull Arena in Germany this Thursday to face Domenico Tedesco’s RB Leipzig in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-final. The Gers are the big underdogs in Leipzig, but can they spring a surprise and return to Glasgow with a positive result? This promises to be a fascinating two-legged affair but we think the Scottish giants might just find themselves outclassed stepping up a level here.

Leipzig, who finished second in the Bundesliga last term, have been in sensational form since Tedesco arrived. However, they did lose at home last time out, a result they will be keen to put behind them. Rangers have done remarkably well to reach the final four, beating the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Braga along the way, but this will be a tough challenge in Germany. Leipzig should make home advantage count, and there is good value in evens for the hosts to win -1.

28th Apr 2022

20:00 - West Ham v Eintracht Frankfurt

West Ham United to Win by One Goal @ 11/4

David Moyes’ West Ham United continue their UEFA Europa League journey this Thursday. The Hammers entertain Eintracht Frankfurt, who knocked out the mighty Barcelona in the previous round. This semi-final, first leg could go either way, but can West Ham make the most of being in front of 60,000 of their beloved fans and take a lead to Germany? We think they can … but it will be a tight clash.

West Ham have had a memorable Europa League campaign up until now, and it has been another hugely successful season for the London club no matter what happens. They have been outstanding at home this term, and we are backing West Ham to take a narrow lead to the second leg at Waldstadion. Check out the solid odds of 11/4 for the home side to win by exactly one goal and give themselves a decent chance in the return fixture.

28th Apr 2022

20:00 - Leicester v Roma

Draw & BTTS @ 10/3

Leicester City and Roma meet in a mouth-watering UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final, with the first leg taking place at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night. Ever since dropping out of the UEFA Europa League, Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes have been one of the favourites to win this competition. Can they secure a vital home victory on Thursday ahead of what will be a really tricky assignment in Rome?

Leicester defeated PSV Eindhoven in the quarter-finals, winning 2-1 in Holland after a 0-0 draw at home. As for Roma, they beat Bodo/Glimt in the last eight. This will be the first ever meeting between these two clubs, and it could go either way. A draw would not be a disaster for either side, and overall we think there is good value in 10/3 for the draw and both teams to score at the King Power.

29th Apr 2022

19:45 - QPR v Sheffield United

Sheffield United Win @ 19/20

Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield United square off in the EFL Championship on Friday night. The Blades are in control of the final play-off place at present, and a win at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium would put them in pole position to finish in the top six going into the final day of the Championship season. The hosts do not have anything to really play for and so we fancy the South Yorkshire side to claim a huge three points here.

Paul Heckingbottom has done an outstanding job since taking over from Slavisa Jokanovic in November. The Blades have shot up the table under their new boss and look a good bet to finish in the top six. In contrast, QPR have gone well off the boil over the past couple of months or so, losing 10 of their last 15 in the Championship to drop into midtable. Our money is going on the away side here, and the Sheffield United victory is priced at very solid looking odds of 19/20.

30th Apr 2022

12:30 - Newcastle v Liverpool

Liverpool Win & BTTS @ 21/10

In-form Newcastle United take on high flying Liverpool in Premier League action at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon. The Magpies have improved drastically over the past few months, winning a highly impressive 10 of their last 14 matches to move into the top half of the Premier League table. Relegation looked certain just a few months ago but now they can dream of a lavish summer of spending and a push for European football next season. Can Eddie Howe’s men upset title chasers Liverpool in this one and enhance their own claims for a top-10 finish?

Since a 1-1 draw with Watford in mid-January, Newcastle have gone on to win six league matches on the bounce at St James’. As for Liverpool, they are unbeaten away from home in the Premier League since a 1-0 loss at Leicester City at the end of 2021. They also faced a testing European game in midweek prior to this and with that following on from a tough Merseyside derby, there may be some fatigue here. Newcastle will no doubt give the Reds a good game, but Jurgen Klopp’s men should return to Merseyside with all three points. You can get very nice odds of 21/10 for the away win and both teams to score.

30th Apr 2022

15:00 - Watford v Burnley

Burnley Win @ 13/8

Burnley will be hoping to continue their superb revival under caretaker manager Mike Jackson when they travel to Vicarage Road to face fellow strugglers Watford in the Premier League this Saturday. The Clarets moved out of the bottom three after last weekend’s results, with Everton replacing them in 18th. This is a must-win game for Roy Hodgson’s Hornets, who find themselves nine points behind Burnley with time running out.

After the harsh sacking of Sean Dyche, the Burnley fans would have been fearing the worst. However, they have taken seven points from a possible nine under Jackson, drawing at West Ham United before back-to-back home wins over Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers. We are backing Burnley to make it three wins on the spin with a massive three points at Watford on Saturday – the away victory is available at 13/8.

30th Apr 2022

15:00 - Barnsley v Preston

Draw & BTTS @ 15/4

In the EFL Championship on Saturday afternoon, relegated Barnsley welcome Preston North End to Oakwell. Both teams were in midweek action, with the Tykes losing at home to Blackpool, while North End were thumped 4-1 by Blackburn Rovers at Deepdale. Barnsley will be hoping to avoid finishing bottom, and Preston can still sneak into the top half, so both will want the points here.

It has been a miserable season for the Yorkshire club, failing to recover from Valerien Ismael’s departure last summer. Ryan Lowe has had a decent time at Preston since arriving, but the Lilywhites head into this one having taken just one point from their last three games. We can see these two teams cancelling each other out, and the draw and both teams to score is nicely priced at 15/4.

30th Apr 2022

17:30 - Leeds v Manchester City

Manchester City HT/FT @ 10/11

Premier League leaders Manchester City make the trip Elland Road on Saturday evening to face a rejuvenated Leeds United side. Man City are clinging on to top spot despite Liverpool’s relentless pressure. However, with the Reds kicking off earlier on Saturday, City could be second by the time this gets underway which will heap more pressure their way. Pep Guardiola’s boys will be looking for no less than three points and we fancy them to deliver the goods despite one or two injury concerns.

Jesse Marsch has made an instant impact at Elland Road, as Leeds head into this one unbeaten in five (three wins, two draws). Man City’s home loss to Tottenham Hotspur in February remains their only Premier League defeat since October though and so this is a big step up for the West Yorkshire side. We can see Man City securing a comfortable victory at Elland Road, and there is good value in 10/11 for the away side to be winning at half time and full time.

1st May 2022

14:00 - Everton v Chelsea

Chelsea HT/FT @ 15/8

On Sunday afternoon, Frank Lampard’s Everton and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea square off at Goodison Park in the Premier League. Having slipped into the relegation zone after Burnley’s recent revival, the Toffees desperately need to start picking up points. Former Chelsea legend Lampard cannot expect any favours from his former club but on home soil he will feel his side have a real chance of a positive result here. However, the Pensioners, who sit third, are the odds-on favourites at Goodison. Will Chelsea pile more misery on Everton or can the hosts harness the energy from the stands to cause an upset?

After seeing his side drop into the bottom three, Lampard could really do with picking up a positive result against his former club on Sunday. The Toffees have won just three Premier League matches under their new boss. Chelsea’s form away from Stamford Bridge has been sensational over the past few months, and we can see the Londoners leaving Merseyside with all three points. They drew 1-1 with Man United in midweek but were superb in that game and more of the same will see them home with room to spare here. Chelsea to be winning at half time and full time is available at 15/8.

1st May 2022

14:00 - Tottenham v Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur Win & BTTS @ 15/8

Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City go head-to-head at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Premier League action this Sunday afternoon. This fixture usually produces goals, with 11 netted in just the last two meetings. In the reverse game at the King Power Stadium in January, Steven Bergwijn scored two injury-time goals to give Spurs a memorable 3-2 win.

Tottenham’s top-four hopes have been dealt a blow after a loss to Brighton & Hove Albion and a draw with Brentford in their last two. Leicester will have one eye on Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final with Roma, which could play nicely into Spurs’ hands. They drew 1-1 in the first leg in the East Midlands on the Thursday prior to this game so may be tired too. Antonio Conte’s men will be after all three points from this one, and there is good value in 15/8 for the Tottenham win and both teams to score.

1st May 2022

16:30 - West Ham v Arsenal

Arsenal to Win -1 Goal @ 2/1

London sides West Ham United and Arsenal meet at the London Stadium in the Premier League this weekend. The Hammers are in the middle of their crucial UEFA Europa League semi-final with Eintracht Frankfurt, which will no doubt be the priority right now. With that in mind, the Gunners will fancy their chances of returning to the Emirates Stadium with a huge three points in the bag.

Due to their Europa League journey, West Ham’s form in the Premier League has dipped. David Moyes’ men have won just one of their last five in the league. After three straight losses, Arsenal have got back on track with excellent wins over Chelsea and Manchester United. Our money is going on the Gunners here, and we like the look of 2/1 for the visitors to win -1.

2nd May 2022

17:15 - Fulham v Luton

Fulham Win & BTTS @ 11/5

Next season the Premier League beckons once again for Fulham but before that they have this season to finish off and records to try and set. Next up they take on in-form Luton Town at Craven Cottage in an EFL Championship fixture on Monday evening. If Bournemouth fail to beat Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, the Cottagers will be crowned champions before lining up against the Hatters. Marco Silva’s men have been the real deal this season, and the Londoners will want to finish with two wins.

Luton will be hoping to join Fulham in next season’s Premier League. Nathan Jones’ boys have been the surprise package in the Championship this term, and a win at the Cottage on Monday will guarantee their place in the top six. However, we fancy Fulham to take the points on their own patch. Put some money on the home victory and both teams to score at the solid price of 11/5.

2nd May 2022

20:00 - Manchester United v Brentford

Manchester United to Win by One Goal @ 13/5

Manchester United welcome Brentford to Old Trafford in Premier League action on Monday night. United have slipped five points away from fourth-place Arsenal in the race for the UEFA Champions League, so only three points will do in this one. Even that is unlikely to be enough but the Red Devils will keep battling until the end of the season. However, the Bees will be no pushovers, as Thomas Frank’s men have won five of their past seven and have pulled well away from the relegation battle.

The Red Devils head into Monday’s matchup in poor form, picking up just one win from their past seven in all competitions. After bad defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, they did manage to hold Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last time out, though they rode their luck at times. This will not be an easy task against plucky Brentford, but Man United must make home advantage count. Take a punt on the hosts to win by one at 13/5.
